HOLY CRAP... No WAY... the FIRST valve shim I needed to do, there have been three since, I started to loosen those bolts you JUST said (minute 19:35) NOT to loosen, and then tightened them back up, BUT........................ I now have NO engine compression. 45psi when WOT tested. Until you said what you said here I assumed, because I had removed it prior to needing to do a valve shim and losing compression, it was the decompression tube removal (it was the ONLY variable I could pinpoint). NOW... after hearing you say what you said... could it have resulted (loss of engine compression) from me loosening a few of those bolts?

I have a mint motor, down side is a stripped spark plug hole. Comtiplating on swapping heads from a parts motor or should I just tap and die... I never tapped threads before

Hallo get life, I’m planning to repair my spark plug hole with an threaded insert, so that means taking the cylinder head off. I have an 2009 model Honda zoomer (same as the ruckus I think, but I live in Europe so it’s called a zoomer) with an injection engine. Is this the same model, or is taking the head off your model here the same as mine? I hope your video is helpful for me. Grtz

Hey man, just picked up a ruckus that needs a lot of love. It won’t start, when I turn the key it clicks but nothing, no electrical, lights, etc. battery maintainer says it’s full, and won’t kick start or electric start. You have any idea what might be going on?

schravin sounds dumb.. but check the killswitch first. Then, I'd use a multimeter to check the battery, should be 13 volts. If it's closer to 12, or drops quickly when you turn it on or try to start.. battery is dead. Check the fuses, the ones on the left are extra and do nothing btw. While you're in there, make sure the fuses box isn't wrecked, and actually has a solid connection to the battery. Also, try switching the two black relays. When you pull them inspect the plugs and prongs for any damage. Btw, the headlights shouldn't come on, but the speedo light and brake light should with just ignition on. Check the fuel pump.. undo and replug it. The ECU won't let the bike start with a bad pump. Definitely replace with OEM, as the aftermarket ones tend to fail and diagnosing a bad electrical connect in the pump is a pain in the ass. I'm a budget builder, but would never go cheap there.

But seriously.. 90% of the time it's the battery.. even when it measures ok.. the battery isn't providing the amps needed anymore. If a battery has ever been below 12v, it's dead. Even if you charge it back to 13v. Try starting the bike with a car battery.. do not run the car! to jump it. And if your battery is dead.. you may need to remove it, cause a dead battery will suck up all the energy. When the ruck is turned on.. you should hear 15-18 clicks from the fuel pump. If your current battery can do that.. let the pump go.. then disconnect the battery, and try kickstarting it.

@@GETlife Thank you so much for the reply man, killswitch is good, fuses look good. The fuel pumped clicked at first but then stopped after a few kickstart attempts. spark plugs look good as well. I'm gonna get a new battery and see if that helps at all. Also the previous owner butchered the air intake setup, so I ordered an air intake kit with the appropraite jets, hoping that helps. the dude i got it off said to remove the top of the two black omron relays under the ignition and it would start? Not sure why that would help or what it even does. any idea what/why that would be a solution. Thanks again for your time dude I really appreciate it, I'm in over my head!

schravin are you in the Honda Ruckus group on FB? Find me there, my last name is Hladky, so you shouldn't have any problems finding me.. I can run through diagnosis better there than here.

next time get an actual socket, not this little puney thing, since you are struggling to break the bolts
