I admire that some of these pitchers finish the play then show the pain.

Nope. I don't believe it was the "thigh". Much respect to being able to move after that.

If you have never taken a liner anywhere, keep it that way, you're not missing anything.

I pitched from little league to highschool and at age 13 I played travel baseball for coaches that played pro or college. But these kinds of things is very scary and see I threw left handed and lots of times for left-handers you fall off the third base side of the mound during your follow through. So when you do that there is no way to defend yourself and your taught as a hitter to drive the baseball to hit line drives. Also when you step on the mound you have no idea how close the mound is until you step on the mound and those hats has very little padding in them anyway. I had a line drive when I was playing travel baseball that came back and hit me right on the bone of my right leg. When it hit me I thought my leg was broken but thank goodness it was just a bone bruise I think. But yea these things can be real scary

@@Ju1cenut69 Yea then I had an incident where I was throwing batting practice to a youth baseball team and I had one of them L screens in front of me. So I looked up for a split second and had one that got me right below my eye and I basically looked like someone gave me a black eye. But yea they can be scary

So serious question...why do pitchers not wear helmets? Is there a practical reason? Or is a old school macho thing? Actually want to know.
