When KBS said "Change the lyrics to WIFE, or we won't play it" (G)I-dle said: No. When (G)I-dle made this MV, they knew there would be an age restriction, but they stayed true to their vision. The artistic expression is more important to (G)I-dle than the boundaries of social norms. They don't make many compromises in this regard. If any.

Yeah, the parallels between the way Shuhua looks at the end in the bandages, and the way Soojin looks in here first solo "Black Forest" performance video too. Like Shuhua was playing "2" roles, ya know?

This MV was INTENSE!!! It definitely seemed like a spiritual sibling to "I Want That" MV. I have to say that Shuhua really KILLED the acting. She was incredible in "I Do" MV, so her acting skills didn't surprise me. Her acting when she was attacked and almost strangled was extraordinary--I don't think any actress could have done better. She really has great potential as an actress later in her career, and I'm here for it!

@@ChainReactionsChannel I have to agree with your typed comment during your reaction to the Shuhua attack scene that it was very difficult to watch that happen on screen. It triggered a very strong revulsion in me to see someone (especially a girl) get attacked in such a violent way. Part of me wonders if they went too far. But (G)I-dle is not shy about pushing boundaries.

I think, this M/V doesn't support any violence but just shows if there's violence happening, it will be violence back.

The Mumbai Fire was real and it's important bc 6 people were killed during it, simbolizing the six original members burned by the lies that were spread against Soojin's character. You can also see six finger prints from the crime scene in Shuhua's investigations and in Miyeon papers.. and in the hallway scene Shuhua is doubled so you see six (g)idle members in the frame. Besides Soojin's direct reference with her birthday, there's also a reference to AC/DC in the paper, which also lost a member and Soyeon have refered to them befor in the "I Never Die" album, whenshe wrote about the falling out of Soojin's departure. At the end, Shuhua is representing Soojin, which people judged to be "dead" by the explosion (the very first scene we watch) being "reborn" again. Well.. Revenge was released exactly 100 days after the release of Agassi by Soojin.

​@@ChainReactionsChannelunfortunately it's not easier bc there's still a lot of misconception and misinformation about Soojin's case in Korea. Although she's been proven innocent in court, the consequences of scandals like this are extremely hard to be undone and everytime Soojin appears or gets mentioned there's some backlash. Even if Soojin was able to re-debut and perform well domestically, even her company opt out to spare her from promoting on TV so she wouldn't face futher harassment, deciding to focus on international activities where she's fully supported. I mean, it's Neverland dreams come true to have OT6 reunited and many hope this will be possible by the time Idle's contract with Cube experies next year, but it is still very hard to accomplish.

I want to point out something I got from this MV. Some you might heard or read or interpreted it by yourself already. Let's make it light and fun. - The story is about an investigator who is working on a case of the explosion that led to a tragic death of a guy and a woman who survived the explosion which in fact was the one who murdered him due to a toxic and abusive relationship with the help from four other women. One business woman, one musician, one police and one housekeeper. - Shuhua is clearly playing 2 characters. One is the investigator and one is the victim. The victim seems to wearing something similar to Soojin's Black Forest video so it might or might not be Soojin that Shuhua's playing. During the scene where the victim is lying on the floor, next to her was the used cigarettes which was one of Soojin's allegation that she smokes cigarette before (Which she did admit that she had tried it once but she didn't like it) - The police is in fact was involved in the scene as well but due to her duty, she has to go back to work immediately right after the murder and act like nothing happened. It's the same during the dark era of (G)I-DLE where Miyeon was forced to go back to work immediately right after Soojin's allegation start and even tho she knew everything, she can't say or do anything at all. - The business woman started the scene by arrived home and try to relax may or may not interpreted to be Minnie during dark era where she went back to Thailand to be with her family. - The housekeeper helped destroy the evidences including the business woman's match on the staircase and the body. might or might not telling the story of Soyeon during the dark era where she was working behind the scene mostly. - The musician iss singing and dancing while the room is on fire might or might not telling the story of Yuqi during dark era where she released her solo single album and went to participate in Stage Boom. Everything was on fire but she had to smile and laugh. - All the women saw the victim got abused through peepholes might or might not means the girls saw what happened to Soojin during dark era but can't do anything. Same as watching something from peephole, you can see what's on the other side but you can't do anything at all. - The investigator was not present during the murder and has to go through it later might or might not telling Shuhua's story during dark era where she just disappeared from the media to practice and improving her skills. It's like she was not there but in fact she's always there. This might be the reason why they chosen Shuhua to play two characters. It's like she's not ther but she's actually always there. - So what exactly is the revenge? I think the real revenge is that (G)I-DLE is back and stronger than ever. The real revenge is that Soojin is back and stronger than ever. Same as the victim at the end when she removed the gauze to reveal that she's actually doing fine. There is no visible pain. She looks sad and lonely but she's fine. That might be the real revenge of this whole story.

Soyeon not only was Working behind the scenes but "cleaning the mess" like the maid in the video. She once in an interview said,that she had a lot of pressure to prepare a comeback for the 5 members after soojin left.

Genius I was about at not even half of what you deducted, the connection with their activities during this period is absolutely genius The song revenge from the very beginning made me think of Soojin and how all six feel so bad toward the perpetrators and want to you know, the "last Easter night" was kind of clear to me, so I adore the song for many reasons since the album is out, but the MV and the genius Nevies made me love it even more

There are 6 pairs of finger prints, and Soojin's d.o.b. is among Minnie, Yuqi and Shuhua's on the piece is paper next to the newspaper. The song was also released on the 100th day off Soojin debuting as a soloist.

@ChainReactionsChannel honestly sometimes I think references we see might be stretches, but this was pretty clear. I do feel that 2 or 3 of the b-sides on "I never die" are messages for Soojin. Thank you for putting the helpline number up. I don't know why but I have never been triggered by their MVs or songs that talk about abuse. The nearest would probably be "sculpture" but I'm still usually OK with that. I think because they are so empowering it really helps 🙂

It made me uncomfortable because it's powerful and represents reality for many people unfortunately. @@Jneedstostopobssessing VILLIAN DIES, POLAROID, ESCAPE are all about Soojin from IND album. Change and DARK (X-file) from I love, Paradise from I feel and now Revenge from 2 are all about Soojin too.

I love to think the guy they fuck up is Cube. Lol For Soojin! Also, the Mumbai Towers was a building that had 6 floors catch fire IRL. 6 floors. 6 members. Also, if based on the theory that Shuhua played 2 characters (herself and soojin), then the soojin character at the end who was supposed to be the burn victim, came out unscathed. The bandage unwrapping looked like Soojin from her Dark Forrest performance video. Soojin who was burned by Cube, is back. OT6

“Ready to Burn”! The girls brought their acting chops to this “Revenge” MV! And they all did amazing! I was surprised to our princess Miyeon as the long lost John Wick’s wife using a pen as a weapon. There seams to be many references in this mv to Soojin and knowing our genius leader everything is intentional. I love that they are being bold and brave and setting their own rules and boundaries and doing it their own way! I loved the song before seeing the mv and first that thought that there were a bit too many La La La’s but after seeing the the mv, I understand it since it is the part where they are dancing as in dancing on the grave, which makes me love the song even more! Thanks for your great reaction, as always I enjoyed it!

On the clue wall of Detective Shu Hua, there is a real incident that happened in Mumbai, and one of the injured people in the fire was burned beyond recognition. In addition, the document on the wall also has the occurrence of the Soojin incident and his birthday. In the alternate world line, it is the timeline that Shu Hua recruited other helpers to plan the whole incident and rescue Shu Hua, who would have been burned

The idea that this MV is an extended metaphor for what happened to Soojin just blows my mind. The amount of detail and imagination in the video is on a Christopher Nolan level. Of course, Soyeon has had loads of time on her hands to focus on this MV with nothing else going on (!!!!!!). That young woman never ceases to amaze.

You take all the videos they made, music or promo, and you get feminism done right. Suggestive satire with wife, self confidence and power with Super Lady, rage with Revenge, menace with the first short film and horror dystopia with hope of liberation in the story film.

I've been a fan since jump. They are growing and growing and overcoming everything thrown at them so far! I can't wait for them to be able to get away from Cube Ent. As a Loona fan that sees the members much happier after leaving a shit label, i want Soyeon and the girls to have the same freedoms.

After Red Velvet, add another crime to the list I guess 📑I loved the concept, especially that they went there again, we had seen some of a similar theme in I Want That. The POV was totally unexpected but it's straight to the point... and I have to admit I don't remember noticing Yuqi's scream in my first watch but it feels so real. The MV adds to the song and I love how there's Soojin's references hidden in the whole thing. And I know you've got plenty to react to but did you plan on recording any reactions to the behind the scenes/recording videos they've put out for Wife and Super Lady? If not at least watch them, very interesting to see how they work!

Hi! Yeah I accidentally heard some BLACKPINK on a Spotify playlist and then it recommended XG to me and I quickly fell in love with them both. I started watching reactions to those two groups but I got frustrated with the reaction videos often feeling forced or boring or people just not learning their names etc. so I figured I'd start my own channel and document my own journey.
