I still have reserves for braviary though, it doesn't seem as bad at first glance but after a quick comparison with Sigilyth, a faster flying/psychic tinted lens user with great coverage, I doubt it will settle above NU/PU after home. Well, maybe there is still hope as Sigilyph was really this low mostly because of pursuit, but still I don't see it OU or UU.

​@@artimist0315 Sigilyph is ass outside of it's burn passing set. It also has less special attack I believe, less bulky and doesn't have a speed boosting move. Only good thing about it is it's higher speed off the bat and magic guard

Important to note that esper wing would also work with sheer force and you’d still get the stat boost since those aren’t affected by sheer force. The only thing you’d be giving up is the crit rate in exchange for a far stronger move, so overall sheer force life orb sets are still going to make use of esper wing over psychic and be very good for breaking, and tinted lens will work well on choices sets.

These shorts just make me want pokemon to be 2D again, they look so nice.

Everyone crapped on Gen 5 so much when they tried to do more the story and the only gen with direct sequel games, more pokemon and the best 2d sprites with animations So why would they try to do that again when they are already selling 20 million with the new 3D games 🥲

Hisuian Braviary being the Biggest Bird right now.

I think Sheer Force will be even better. Sheer Force Life Orb Hurricane will also hit resists hard while nuking anything neutral for more than 2x the damage of Tinted Lens sets. And i feel its too slow to sweep unless it gets multiple Esper Wing boosts which is unlikely.

Does this thing need to sweep?? It just needs to get in a blow up a mon one by one. What is ever going to be able to switch in to base 112 spAtk hurricane with sheer force and life orb? Nothing could switch in to Landorus base 90 earth power. Just pivot using uturn or chilly reception and bring this in and start nuking mons

Maybe agility with sheer force? You can setup on ground or fighting types (AHEM GREAT TUSK) and if it's uu or ou it's still outsped by alot after 1 Esper Wing, so double Speed is probably better unless it falls to RU

King gambit will def be a road block to this thing when it initially switches in, but shouldn’t be an issue for sets that run CC. 🎉

I remember when moves would only get one good secondary effect… now they have like 2 or 3.

Tinted Lens is one of the best abilities that almost no viable Pokemon get access to, kinda like Simple. Here's hoping H.Braviary can make the cut.

The sheer force set with psychic/hurricane/heat wave will also hit like a monster

I might actually play SV again once these come out and the meta opens up!

I always loved bravairy and used it on my comp teams in bw days but this one seems dope asf.

I love this Pokémon tbh and I can not wait to use it. A great flying and physic type is so useful to the many teams that I like to use.

Tinted lens will absolutely be great on braviary, but tbh im almost certain people are still gonna mostly go for its second ability sheer force, it gets tons of moves that can work qmazingly well with it like heatwave, phychic, hurricane, shadowball, ect. Plus it will be abled to hold life orb with no drawback, tinted lens is still great though

I do just wanna put out there that the purple part on its head really reminds me of Noivern’s ears. Since this is supposed to be an ancient version of Braviary from a time long before Pokémon leagues were a thing, I like to think this version of Braviary has some ties to Noivern

If your going that route psychic would be better then Esper Wing due to higher base dmg.

Lowkey might try and fit this onto a trick room team without the signature move

One of my favorite things to do with this mon in draft is to set up my own tailwind with it because it can usually live non super effective hits and spam modest sheer force life orb hurricane hurricanes

I usually love the 2D sprites but that H. Braviary needs extra work on those wings.

Esper wing is such a good example of power creep signature moves. How do we make this outclassed pokemon worthy of existing? mmmm just give it a ridiculous move that every Braviery-H needs. This "solution" to power creep does make it seem like the overall base stats stay the same, making reworking older pokemon more feasible, but, it inadvertently makes most pokemon of its species feel the same, which is the most unique thing in competitive pokemon to me. Arcanine is usually built bulky but can be retooled to be offensive to catch people off gaurd etc. But these signature moves let you have a setup turn and attack turn in one, so "set up builds" are eliminated because every build has setup

I remember the days when Tinted Lens was an ability used to make bad pokemon kinda ok Glad those days are over with Lokix and this bird

it's move sounds similar to morpeko's move, I like moves like that- pretty neat damage, speeds you up, doesn't usually miss

Don't forget WP sets, which can actually have a niche now because of Esper Wing. Espathra without the crack, if you will.

Not to mention, it could also make for a great Sheer Force user. A bot limited, but the movepool gives Braviary very solid coverage, and paired with Agility, could make it a good wallbreaker or endgame cleaner, similar to the likes of Nidoking I‘d say.

I've been using it on showdown a lot recently, and I'd say it's a decent UU or likely NU tier mon, it's reduced speed REALLY hurts it in the higher tiers like OU, Ubers, and AG.

Well, any other 7 star raid Pokémon isn’t in the guidelines because they don’t have a Pokédex entry. Gamefreak could either decide that only Pokémon in the SV Pokédex could be allowed, or they could include their terra raid Pokémon and actually make people happy. Seeing how the game devs are, I think they’ll stick to the former, but hope for the latter.

@@just_a_folk95 there is a shot that they’ll allow it without the need for Pokédex entries, as it seems like that’s what they’ll do due to the presentation in the regulations. It’s a coin flip though. I know this because I have a competitive team I’m building with a greninja and hisuian zorark and neither of them are legal, despite Hzorark being literally gifted by game freak themselves.

I have a special spot reserved for this on my mono-flying rain team :)

I mean this still had the same weakness as Galatians articuno tho. Weakness to ice, electric, rock types but now adding on bug, dark, and ghost types it's basically just worse galarian articuno.

I think sheer force + life orb + agility has potential.

Now we just need a flying/fighting staraptor and then these two and then give swellow or fearrow or noctowl a flying/dark typing and we'll have a new balanced bird trio.

Idk i think the speed will still hurt it too much. You need an esper wing just to putspeed base 100 fully invested. And it doesn't have enough bulk to take strong hits. Choice specs tinted or life orb sheer force will hit super hard. But i think it will have a lot of trouble getting on the field and actually getting those hits off
