    I never really liked history and politics back in school, even though, my country 🇦🇩 has a rich history as well. But I like how well and detailed Marion explains history. I learned many things about my birth country's history from KZread. But Croatia is beautiful and is a neighbor country south of my birth country. I have been in Canada for more than 30 yrs now. But Roman times were very significant times, back in time. You guys take care and safe travels.

    an interesting fact that even we Croats forget is that so many countries have changed here, but we have always been only Croats here since the 8th century, we lost our country in 1102 and after almost 900 years they fought for their country again, taking care of numerous historic cities and the facts in this area. In reality, we are very proud of it and we are a good example for the Scots, Catalans, Basques, maybe Bavarians... if they want their countries back and their glorious past, maybe they can get it, but they have to be persistent and make a lot of sacrifices submit, otherwise very interesting video

    I don't think Marion is really an history teacher. In the other videos she said she an english language teacher. And that she is a professor at Cambridge university. Idk if you ask the university if they will verify that she is part of the teaching stuff. Or I may ask the university just out of curiosity. I don't know why you in this channel do this thing to overexaggerate her accomplishements. It s like fooling your viewers and thinking your viewers have an iq level of 50. I also agree that her english both accent and grammatical are very bad for someone claiming to be an english language professor at Cambridge lol.

    Aweosme video! Fun fact about Split. We have a street called "Trondheim street" because Trondheim is "twin" city to Split. That dates back to 1956. Also, I moved from Split (my hometown) to Trondheim and I found that out when I was moving. Maybe it was ment to be? 😃

    Could it be that many ironies belie a double cross? Of course some cultures 'get' irony and some cultures believe others get it wrong regularly... After all, truth might be elusory but the absence of questions leaves all in the dark. Nice tour guiding guys, sounds like Split has been a happening place for a long time.

    Yeah I have been thinking about it. But for now I don’t have the time to create a third channel. And this one is not purely about motorcycles, but more about my travels and experiences on a motorcycle. And when I get to a place and get to explore it I think it fits with the theme of the channel to do some of these things now and then. But in the future I am considering making a third channel to go more in depth on things like this…

    You should have paid a professional licensed guide not someone who thinks that as a teacher can do unprofessionaly the tour in Split .

  • @RidetheBean

    Not sure what you’d expect to be different. As a history teacher Marion has a good grasp on history, and we did get help from a licensed tour guide for some of the more intricate things to make sure it was accurate. I’d appreciate if you could tell me what you felt were missing so we can make better videos in the future 🙂

    When someone as a techer speaks about history first of I ecpect more common tread She should be more proficient.I think that someone who is a professor of history who you claim is up to the task should know very well that the Greek name for the city was not Split that we have today. Pronunciation of the name of the same emperor Diocletian in Englis right. Knowledge of the English language at a very high level and to tell a coherent and accurate historical story from beginning to end when she has no idea about the history of art of the city itself, which is unique in the world and so special.Not a single specific accurate detail about the sights of the city was told in the right way. That's why I wrote that you should have paid a licensed guide to get local experience and the way the palace itself breathes. According to this, it turns out that the child who Marion is teaching is also able to make a bad historical walking tour,because in mine opinion this is very shallow presentation of history in bad Englis.

  • @RidetheBean

    @RidetheBean

    Жыл бұрын

    Hehe sorry you feel that way. With more time to prepare, of course we could have gone more in depth. But if you’ve watched the other videos you know we came here the day before, walked around the city and wrote down what we thought were some of the most interesting things. Then we filmed it. We had About two hours to do the research and learn it before filming. Remember there are lots of different types of history. Marions expertise is in English literary history.

    & I would add, its not rly true that only recently Croatia started experiencing peace and tourism for the first time, as it used to be thriving and prosperous country and amongst the more abundant cultural and historic places, AND safe countries (in ALL of Europe btw, including western Europe) at many different times over the last many centuries! So yes, perhaps do a bit of more thorough research for the next time! OR Perhaps hire some local expert for the tour!?? (I Like her cute accent tho!;))

    April 10, 1941 Croatia once again emerged in modern history, recognized by 45 other nations. It had been nearly 900 years since it was independent previously.
