History Shows Heseltine Has Been Consistent On Boris &

The #brexit war continues despite the fact that Brexit has proven that remainers were always right.
Those who continue to believe there’s some other form of Brexit waiting in the wings are merely stuck with stubbornness.
Some people want to believe Brexit is done and here for good because they don’t want to relive the trauma of the arguments.
Michael Heseltine shows us why we must fight for the future for our children and their children.
Brexit was always wrong!

Like Macmillan, Thatcher, and Major, Heseltine comes from another age - when Tories had rational principles and pragmatic plans, even when you didn't agree with them. But since 2016, the party has been dominated by amoral opportunists and Brexit fanatics.

@@inigoromon1937 Really? Is that why she got the UK such good deals within the EU that Bozo, JRM, Farage and others all decided it would be a good idea to piss up the wall rather than continue benefitting from? Heseltine might well have made a good PM . It's worth remembering he stood up to Thatcher (and eventually resigned too, on principle, if memory serves) over the Westland Affair, and not many back then had the balls to do that.

The EU doing what its good at !The European Union’s mammoth Covid recovery fund, designed to reboot the Continent’s southern economies and finally forge a full-blown fiscal union. It is becoming painfully clear that the huge amounts of money Brussels borrowed is being wasted, with an investigation into fraud underway, accusations of corruption, and misallocation of resources. In reality, Britain had a lucky escape from the whole sorry mess - and while we may have failed to seize many of the opportunities from Brexit, staying out of this disastrous fund was one of them. Earlier this month, Italian police arrested more than 20 suspects from across the bloc, at the request of EU prosecutors, over a suspected fraud of more than €600m. During the raids, police seized Rolexes, gold jewellery, Lamborghinis and Porches, which gives us an idea of where at least some of the cash went. It does not stop there. Last week, the website Politico reported that the authorities are investigating the way that €2.5bn of Covid recovery funds earmarked for Greece had been awarded to a small group of telecoms companies in the country, with offices raided by the Greek competition commission, and an investigation opened by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Why would you now get similar goods from half way around the world with the inherent cost of transportation. The trade deals with NZ and Aus will only bring in 0.08% of GDP in 10 years. The two main parties seem to refuse to acknowledge the damage they have brought about to their country and the slight weakening of the EU too. The majority of British people apparently want to re-join but they have nobody they can realistically vote for who shares that view. I agree that the opposition do have to be a bit policy free, but an open attack on what the Tory brexit did to the should be possible, however such an attack would also be an attack on various trade unions who also supported brexit enthusiastically. A very good collection of quotes from Heseltine, hopefully more politicians will be brave enough to stand up and shine a light on brexit.
