I live in Australia and bought Big John Studd, Nikolai Volkoff, Greg Valentine, Andre the Giant (pre hair cut), Tito Santana (purple trunks) and Ricky Steamboat (black trunks) between 1986- 1988.. I wanted Hulk Hogan figure and hid it but by the time I got back to Coles the next week it was gone so I settled for Greg Valentine. My cousin also bought me Hulk Hogan and Big John Studd thumb wrestlers.
Awesome! Just bought 6 of them. Never got them for Xmas in 1986!

I miss these days
Alot of people get confused the first 5 were released in Sept 1985 with jyd Piper hillbilly volkoff being released in Dec of 1985 even though. All 9 we're stamped 1984

If that's true then why are there ljns spotted in wrestlemania 1, which was in March 1985 ? Don't believe me watch roddy pipers entrance. Hogan ljn spotted clear as day. And ljns were available Christmas 1984.

@@sodapopyo1 they were introduced at a toy fair in Feb of 85 and the wwf catalog in the wwf magazines didn't advertise them until after Sept of 85

@@willielominchar7290 thanks. LJNs were first in a wwf magazine april/May issue 1985. It was a article behind the scenes of the making of the LJN commercial in 1984. The toy fair was in February 1985, but they were available in Christmas of 1984. I've also talked to a few former LJN employees who have confirmed this with me as well.

The first 5 were released to a limited market in late 1984 and everywhere else in the spring of 1985. The next 4 figures were released in the fall of 1985. The early releases of the first 5 figures came with stands. Those ones are super rare today.
I had Hogan and JYD.

I had neither as a kid. Just the bendies Hogan, lol.
I can tell by how you talk about these figures that you and I are kindred spirits regarding this era of wrestling...It represents everything good about my childhood...Truly the golden age...btw, The Sgt. Slaughter figure is awesome.

@@ToyKennections Thank you my friend...I was actually a Hulkamaniac growing up but I've always been partial to army toys and figures, that's what drew my attention to Sgt. Slaughter. I have, however, as an adult, come to develop a great appreciation for wrestlers that I once overlooked. Sarge is one of them.

Great video man. Loved these toys when I was little. Surprising how fun they were even without any articulation

Great job! What an information packed toy review! So much wrestling history mixed in with the review! Nice touch at the end, you mind if I borrow the idea but in stop motion of course?

Look up "Toy Kennections Checkpoint" and I did a video about him and Beach Head. Or check the vintage collection tour on my channel Home tab and there'll be a bit of cops on that tour.
