History Of Weapons: Ranged Weapons | Full Documentary

Ғылым және технология

Ranged weapons guarantee the warriors’ best chance of survival. International experts demonstrate the most important ranged weapons in history. The quite clever design of the Roman spear promptly disables the enemy in battle. Thanks to the long bow, England becomes one of the most feared superpowers of the medieval. And with the emergence of the minié ball, battles become even bloodie. The futuristic ‘Railgun’ is extremely precise at a distance of several hundred kilometers.

The commentary was very clear : " France and England fought side by side in the Crimea " . All those Englishmen in kilts ! And I suppose the Welsh and the Irish were at the rear making tea .

11:02 *That* was fascinating . These series are so good. Despite the depressing topic of the desire to manufacture ever more efficient killing machines . Once a government has the more efficient weaponry , it automatically becomes more brazen in its ambition to dominate and conquer. it's been like that since the advent of tribal warfare. These days the U.S. and its allies are convinced they have the more deadly high tech weaponry , that will allow them to bluff and put pressure on the Russian federation's back garden. Thinking that (despite the one time on Japan)no one will ever use these nuclear weapons that prevented a major world war escalation for an unprecedented 76 years . Ignoring that an accidental nuclear conflict is just around the corner , due to even lower levels of east west relations than since 1962, to almost mutual hatred..... While the generals and their servant politicians are preparing their bunkers and this time playing actual Russian roulette.

just once I'd like to see a"how powerful was the english war-bow?" test done using one with a more accurate draw-weight. A 50 pound bow just isnt the same thing as one with a 150 pound draw.

I believe and I may not know and in spite of this I will continue. Point blank emanates from ultimate fear. In the ranging of the guns they had aiming marks, detentes. when the object was so close, the range detentes were blank, hence, point blank.
