The Brief History of Artificial Intelligence, which we commonly abbreviate as "AI". Here I am, bothered enough to make another 20+ mins video again. Well actually, my editors are probably more bothered.

Amazing video, I wouldn't mind it if you made a more in-depth history of AI broken down into several videos, every step is so damn interesting, like what's gradial descent? Back propagation? How did each scientist come up with the solution and what exactly were they trying to solve? This is one of those high-quality videos that really embeds itself into the person's memory, I made damn sure to check I was subscribed to the channel after watching it

"Learning" AI is not easy, it's a lot of hard work, otherwise everybody would do it who found it interesting. Making this remark from your segway into the sponsorspot. My only critisime, the rest of the video was extremely well put together. Especially the earlier history about logical reasoning and symbolic AI in general. It's extremely boring to program your own inference engine but it gives you great insight into thought and logical reasoning and how computers need to tackle this to simulate human thinking.

Hello there, I just want to say that it as such will very soon become a part of our daily life. For example, askustvenye (voice) assistants, which now can not be said that very much is needed. But thanks to chrysalis, everything will change very dramatically and dramatically. And speech not only about the sphere of state assistants, but also many other sectors, which at first glance do not require optimization with the help of AI

“I think therefore I am…” Hum… No ! I am, therefore I may (sometime) think… Intelligence is not central in being, and in conscience… Intelligence is a peripheral feature used by life in order to reach its goal… like a leg or an eye.

This video is outdated. It launched 1 month before ChatGPT released in November 2022. Since then AI has seen massive improvements in vision, image and language and talk among people in the industry is that AGI may actually be possible and soon within the next 2 to 10 years.

@@cypher7776 So what do you think is happening when artists spend years in college trying to learn how to be better than other artists just so they can go make corporate art for DropBox? AI art is going to put artists out of a job, and I love it, because the commodification of art has destroyed our appreciation for the actual artistic process. Now the only reason to create art is because you want to, not because corporations tell you that you must.

@@tyler.walker So it will make corporate art even more soulless. Corpos will need to use copyright free images in order to generate anything. And no, AI is not going to put artists out of jobs simply because the world has the art industry reliant on creative directors, characters designers, animators and more. Get educated Tyler, because I don't think people will appreciate "AI" (it's actually Neural Network or Deep Learning) fastfood because it will have no soul.

I think foundation models are showing a real form of intelligence. They have learned an efficient way to parse massive amounts of data in a way that humans cannot with handcrafted algos. But it would be a mistake to call that type of intelligence sentient or conscious...at least in the way that a biological agent is. Maybe you could say it is a unique form of sentience or consciousness or maybe they are a part of the solution...but intelligent foundation models are not as complex or adaptable as bio agents, and they are not embedded in the world in the same such that the models are precieving or experiencing in real time.

The GPT networks are more similar to the speech center of the human brain, than to the entire human brain. With the "right" kind of injury humans can produce very GPT like speech. This begs the question: is your speech center in your brain conscious? Are any parts of your brain conscious by themselves?
