And I think they didn’t have any inspection time back at the first world championship either, So that time would probably be quite hard for even good modern cubers to beat, if you have to do it on the original 40 ish years old rubriks cube they used and with no inspection time at all. I think pro modern cubers would beat it quick, but still give a greater challenge then 22 secs sounds like Pretty impressive. I think a lot of the people who competed used their own methods aswell. And I don’t think they were allowed to use their own broken in cubes, but provided new rubriks ones.

@@IQzminus2 22sec is quite easy to beat for a good fridrich cuber, even with no inspection time (A solve is approximately 50/55 moves)
@IQzminus2

@@yanniskuhn3095 Yeah, but they all had to compete with a new 1980s rubriks cube, that someone else choose for them, that they had not been able to break in, tension, lube, or modify in any way. There is a reason why they are doing full on wrist turns for all the turns in the footage from the comp. And there are interviews with people who competed who said the cubes were fine-ish, but that they were disappointed they didn’t get to compete with their own cube. They all just got 3 attempts. And there was a need for a rule, that said that if the cube broke apart it didn’t count as a attempt. But if it happened twice in a row you lost the attempt and it basically became a DNF. And quite a few of the people who competed got a DNF. So they are using original rubriks cubes, that are popping on them, that they had no ability to modify in any way. So they had to balance not losing their attempts because of the high high risk of pops, and trying to get a good time on a cube that isn’t theirs and not as familiar. I absolutely think if a modern top cuber traveled back in time and competed, they would probably win. The community is bigger and more talented people putting thousands of hours into cubing, even when not considering more modern methods and access to share and consume information fast and easy. I’m guessing there are just a lot more amazing cubers around now. I just wanted to point out that what they did at the first comp is to me quite impressive. More so the more I learned about the circumstances they competed under. I’m guessing those times would be surprisingly hard to replicate, with the same restraints and challenges they competed under. It sounds like a very hard 22 sec solve to do.
I learned to solve the cube for the first time at 32 years old. 3 years later my pb is 10.19 and I average 17. Never too old to learn and it's never impossible to improve.

All timed averages and means under 10 minutes are measured and rounded to the nearest HUNDRETH of a second. Soo they still recognize miliseconds, they just round it up to the nearest hundreth. I only learned how to solve the 3x3x3 cube this Year (2021) My late grandmother bought me one for my 9th Birthday in 1980... I practiced but it beat me... I forgot about it but I ALWAYS knew I would come back later and "Beat it"... I learned it in about a week in July 2021 with the help of videos on KZread I will never be able to do sub 10 seconds... @@HiddenGemComics thanks bro
Also it's interesting that Feliks broke the record for most of the sub-10
Feliks Zemdegs already has a world record. He did 3.33 seconds. Unfortunately, it is not an official record because he was just training. :/
Fun fact: You can’t beat the world record in 1982
