    it's always really spooky when people from like 100 years ago totally predicted stuff that's going on today. it's too bad because these guys would do pretty decent ad revenue today. maybe the future was slightly less glamorous than they expected tho.

Taking a challenge for myself in making Noise Music popular and especially in Asia, which most people never heard of Ambient Music. I'm currently in progress composing for my full Guitar noise album. Which Guitar is the only instrument on this album. To my noise family.....Keep up the good fight !!!!!

    +MarmaladeJacket Noise is just a broad umbrella term referring to whatever the majority of listeners deem as undesirable or non-musical, being included in someone's music. It's a bit vague to pin down, and it can change all the time depending on the opinion of the time.

  • @Stabilized

    @Stabilized

    8 жыл бұрын

    I am not sure how that follows, you seem to be saying that metal vocals are not noise vocals; that is your opinion. I have not found any such statements other than your own to say it is the way you describe it. But I mean it doesn't really matter does it? It doesn't change the music at all just from what you or I have to think about it. Music is a social construct around sound, none of it goes really beyond opinion.

    Well, sad to say I didn't learn anything at all due to knowing all of it already. So I'll make myself useful and elaborate for anyone interested in further listening. These pieces are a good introduction to all Frank's talking about Pierre Schaeffer - Cinq Etudes de Bruits / Etude Aux Chemins de Fer (same piece different-languaged titles) K. Penderecki - Threnos (A threnody to the victims of Hiroshima) The Beatles - Revolution 9 (inspired by stockhausen this one, really cool) Karlheiz Stockhausen - Gesang der Juenglige (stockhausen himself. this piece is based on a story for the bible, if I remember correctly it's the guy who was trapped in a cave with the lions. made with scissors and glue) Terry Riley - In C (this one is a challenge, "music of changes", very slight changes over a lot of time.) Edgard Varèse - Ionisation (one of frank zappa's biggest influences, this piece - he played the vinyl to shreds) 4'33" in three parts by John Cage, as performed by Ulrich Krieger, the Open Window Version on his record "A Cage of Saxophones 3 & 4".

    Thanks for this video! Nice to see a video about the history of noise music that has got both humour but is also kind of serious about it too! :) Oh, and another good point that i noticed was that it shows some different styles of noise music and plays them along the video but in ways that it shouldn't be too hard to watch for those who are new to Noise Music. Or, at least i think this should be an easy video to watch for them... i guess i can't objectively estimate how easy or hard it would be for them, now that i have listened to so much noise music myself since i found this music style. X) But yeah, thanks for an entertaining video, looking forward to the second part(also, i should try to remember to watch more of your videos...)! :D

    1:07 "I mean I'm pretty sure long ago a CAVEMAN somewhere found a cave and got lit and started shouting crazy things and banging rocks on cave walls and other CAVEPEOPLE started gathering and watching them do crazy things for several hours, cuz they literally had nothing better to do and that inspired other CAVEPEOPLE to do the same thing only with elaborate hats, and necklaces made outta bones with even more yelling and banging which in turn inspired other people to copy what they did. Til someone invented writing and wrote it down which of-course got misinterpreted then burned and re-imagined and mutated continuously for thousands of years til people were killing each other becuz their screaming and yelling into the cosmic void was different than someone else's screaming and yelling..."
