It’s far more messy than that. DeGaulle wasn’t recognized until the end of 1942 as the US viewed Vichy as more legitimate and almost backed Darlan over DeGaulle. The whole reason Vichy existed was to keep the French empire together and was the legitimate France until they didn’t cooperate enough with the Allies and they changed their minds.

Vichy France is a puppet-state there is no real France, The real France is Vichy France of which belonged to Nazi Germany which allowed them access to French colonies in Africa

4:18 the music reminds me the Song of Roland.
Honestly, I quite liked the Ice Age borders, besides Doggerland. It would've been interesting to see bow migrations and wars would've worked had the Tyrrhenian sea (the body of water east of the Italian peninsula) had stayed fertile lands for the Romans and Illyrians to inhabit. Another thing to be peculiar about would be the fact that the Alps are MUCH larger meaning they could be a better safeguard against barbarians and many other army hordes.

Yeah, I didn't really go into detail on the sa level in the neolithic but it is a very interesting era of prehistory to read about but as a British person I am glad doggerland is gone because otherwise the French would definitely have messed with us.

@@somersetball Bah.....maybe yes, maybe no......la disparition du Doggerland aura certes eu de l'influence sur les relations entre Anglais et Français.....Cependant, si le Doggerland s'était maintenu, tous ces peuples se seraient croisés d'une manière ou d'une autre et le cours de l'histoire aurait été changé, une mixité quelconque se serait créé entre tout ce beau monde. Les peuples sont faits pour se rencontrer...un être humain tient rarement en place.....trop de facteurs autour de lui le poussent à se bouger le cul ! @@somersetball si il y avait eu le Doggerland il n'y aurait pas eu de France ou d'Angleterre ou sous d'autres noms, les territoires anglais et français formeraient peut être même un seul et même pays car de base les populations anglaises et françaises sont d'origine celtes, et sans ce brin de mer il aurait été encore plus compliqué à César d'envahir un territoire aussi vaste car tous les celtes auraient pu se coaliser éfficacement.

Catalan counties since Xth century werent vasals of france, they were autonomous on its own and didnt pay tribute to france. They were in titulation on paper but on practice france didnt have power on catalan counties
