Under the Institute of Christ the King, one of Green Bay's historic churches has just recently undergone an amazing renovation! This video traces the history and restoration of St Patrick's oratory, a historic church in Green Bay Wisconsin that was originally organized for the area's Irish immigrants. Beginning with the early Irish migration to Wisconsin, and the Irish in early Green Bay history, it goes on to trace the development of the building, and ultimately shows the recent renovation / restoration work of the interior. This restoration, most notable the interior paintwork, makes this a remarkably beautiful church, and restores the interior to something like its 19th century splendor.
The church is part of the Diocese of Green Bay, and under the leadership of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, which is known for celebrating the Traditional Latin Mass, further bringing this church into its historical beauty.

I'd love to know, does anyone have any other favorite well-preserved or restored historical churches?
Very beautiful. Thanks to the Institute of Christ the King.
It would be cool to visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion east of Green Bay. While the architecture isn’t as impressive, the history is incredible. It’s the only Church-approved Marian Apparition in the United States, miraculously survived a massive wildfire back in the day, and has a huge collection of crutches from the healings that have taken place there.
Interior is beautiful. Well done!
I just finished watching a couple of your other videos in addition to this one. Your channel is vastly underrated, and the quality of your work is incredible. Deo Gratias.

Thank you, I’m glad you are enjoying it!
You could also make another great video about the Institute's restoration of St. Stanislaus Church in Milwaukee, WI. These Priests have a magnificent grasp of architecture and style which, along with the traditional Latin Mass and Gregorian Chant music, makes worshiping in their churches simply amazing.

I would love to do that. I didn’t know the Institute was behind the restoration of that church, what a cool group.
Stunning!
I love going to mass here
Wow, what a gem of an interior. You make excellent videos , my friend!

Very well done video. I have watched it several times now and am sharing it with my "Irish" family that are out of state.

Beautiful video! Great narration and production values.
Beautiful church, great video, keep up the good work.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Fancher, WI is a beautiful Catholic Church built by Polish immigrants. It is located out in the country
Well done! Thanks
And most importantly, Jesus is there!
You had mentioned in this video that St. Mary's is the German church, but St. Mary's (of the roller rink) is the Polish church; St. Willibroad's is the German church.

Thank you for the comment. According to my research, St Francis Xavier was originally named St Mary’s before it became the cathedral, so I used its original name in the historical context. I should have mentioned that in the video!
An Irish church involved in the Temperance movement?! Wow, are you sure on that?

@@BotoburstWe are happy you are not either!
Great video. One correction; when you mention the "German Church" of St. Mary's, you show St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, and, St. Mary's was the Polish Church.

You are correct, thanks for pointing that out! St Francis Xavier Cathedral was originally called St Mary’s before it became the cathedral, and before the Polish church was founded. Since I was referring to it in its earliest context, I used its first name.
