I think Duke Berthold being overpowered is a product of the game's mechanics not really taking into account how fractured any given character's realm is. Even inflicting a control growth penalty to disconnected territory would really help.
I really wonder why the Hohenstaufen are depicted with black hair in the game, as their Blonde/reddish blonde hair is often mentioned. I also think, that having an additional county in Swabia called „Neckargau“ would be fitting for this dynasty, as that was somewhat the original region where they build their First castles. Maybe Paradox will flesh out these important characters one day.
A game I would love to see covered is Kimgdom Come: Deliverence.

Exactly what I was going to say, love CK3!
The HRE seems to be fairly well-developed in terms of content in game. However, the complex structure (or rather utter mess) that the Holy Roman Empire was during the High Medieval Ages remains rather poorly explored. Jewish communities (which we’re numerous in the HRE) are missing almost completely missing. Cities in the HRE are no different from cities anywhere else, despite the effective independence the “freie Reichsstädte” (lit. free imperial cities) held and the special privileges the cities had. Among other things. I really hope a future DLC updates the HRE to better represent the complex structure of the empire. (Although realistically, considering how bare-bones large parts of the map, particularly India and the far-east, still are, we might need to wait a bit).

I'd like to see more engagement with centralization and maybe something like EU4's HRE mechanics. Higher centralization means that the empire's appearance on the map is more like it is, a solid white. Lower centralization means that individual vassals visually appear as independent, with only a white fade border showing the Imperial borders.

It is crusader kings, I feel like the focus should just be on europe for noe, as it is still lacking

They will for sure milk us with a HRE dlc probably including some of Italy, hungary and austria as well. I bet they will have one dlc for england and France and then one the eastern baltic regions + russian ones, they will implement a lot of stuff ck3 is still very young

Id rather cut india and the far east entirely to have a decent content density for europe, i did not get CRUSADER KINGS to play india or the tibet.

@@eugenioderevell3826 I usually jusy use a mod which entirely removes everything except Europe, North Africa, Asia Minor and Persia to remove lag. If I play as a german duke then I really dont care about what happens in Mali.
I lived in Freiburg im Breisgau for some time. Austrian and Zähringen influence can be found throughout the city. However, my favorite story has to be the revolt against the Urach dynasty in the last 13th century where they besieged his castle with catapults and Hauri the butcher killed the Prince-Bishop of Strasbourg in battle when the Bishop went to relieve the Urachs from siege.
Frederick III. became King IN Prussia in 1701, not OF Prussia. A 'minor', but not insignificant difference. Very interesting episode, thanks :)

It wouldn’t be until Frederick the Great that the title would change to King OF Prussia with the first partition of Poland. Poland controlled West Prussia and the Polish King claimed the title as King of Prussia.

I mean it is actually an insignificant difference as it made no real difference to anything in real life. It is just funby historical pettiness

@@sebe2255 He was the first one (aside of the title of the kingdom of Bohemia - but that title was very, very old and hold by the King of the Germans and the emperor of the HRE - the Habsburger) to take the title of a king by his own rights besides the King of the Germans - and the King of the Germans was the official title of the ruler of the land of the Germans. Usually the king of the Germans, who was elected by the Kurfürsten (electors), was the emperor of the HRE as well. By doing this he deteriorated the authority and extraordinariness of those titles and the authority of the HRE. If even the poor Elector prince of Prussia call himself a king, what was the worth of such a title?
@sebe2255

@@blueinmotion9438 Yes but the title itself, and especially the in or of distinction, could only be done because the Emperor had already lost most of his authority
For CK3 you could do interesting Characters in Persia after the DLC comes out. For other games: If it is Paradox-aligned it would be EU4 and the missing states of the HRE. If not: It woud have to be Total War: Atilla or Three Kingdoms.
A cool future video idea could be discussing the various disasters found in Europa Universalis IV and how well they are portrayed within the actual game in comparison to the actual history
7:51 This is the Hohenzollern castle in Sigmaringen where I went to school. I've walked past this castle basically every single day lol It's such a strange feeling to see these familiar places on KZread but it also shows the historical importance of this small region in todays Baden-Württemberg. Thank you for doing this awesome series. Hopefully you'll gain more subscribers in the future.
It's crazy to see these families and dynasties in their infancy.
Could you cover the eastern religions of the map? I personally almost always play in Europe/MENA and I feel like I'm missing out a lot about the part of the world I know the least about.

You should do a Tibetan warlord campaign, with the bönpa religion, interesting stuff!
I wish you would take a deep look into southern France. There are so many influential and important houses as counts that I can’t stop playing in that area, and actually get sad when one of their houses dies out or gets revoked.
I wish you guys had more support, I’m loving the videos you guys do such a good job.
Hey, could you make a video about hidden gems in France, like Godefroy of Boullion (futur king of Jerusalem) is already alive in 1066 or any other character who were in the First Crusade ?
pretty much any paradox game works, EU4, victoria 3, hoi4 (except stellaris for obvious reasons :D)
Kingdom come deliverince is cool
With the release of Legacies of Persia coming up, it would be very intriguing to see a video about the Abbasid empire and notable Persian rulers. I'd be very interested to see which character to try out for my next playthrough.
Adding my vote to the requests for videos about regions outside of Europe; in particular I'd love to hear more about how accurately North Asia is represented, since it's a region that I think often gets left out of discussions about anything prior to the Mongol Empire. Is there any chance you'd be interested in going over details in mods, as opposed to solely unmodded games? If so, major CK3 overhaul mods like Shogunate, The Fallen Eagle, or Oriental Empires could provide good opportunities to explore areas/times not covered by CK3. Alternately, I'd love to hear your takes on the EU4 mod Voltaire's Nightmare (which shrinks down the map to focus solely on a hyper-detailed HRE). Otherwise, the Nobunaga's Ambition series could be a good opportunity to explore Japanese history -- especially since, much like the HRE, feudal Japan is a region that tends to be portrayed with far less complexity than it had in actual history.
I would like to see you do a few videos on the Byzantine Empire similar to the ones you did on the HRE
Eu4 have some dynasties that become important later on and there the HRe is much more unstable
You should cover Kingdom Come: Deliverance, reportedly one of the most historically accurate RPG's ever made. Also your channel seems hella sweet. Keep up the great content!
Would love if you did a video on how europe or the world is presented in games like medieval total war 2 or total war empires would be an interesting one.
Thanks for my new scheme hit list
Funfact: 1066 berg was actually in a pretty chaotic state where basically every village was as independent as most duchies. The successor to the Ezzonen of lotharingia count Adolf I of berg would only come to power in 1077 and only got recognized as a county in 1101. I can't remember how paradox treated it but i can confidently say based on what the system can do that it's historically inaccurate
first off, thanks for the shoutout, second could you cover the historical accuracy of the gear in Mordhau? maybe where and when it was used, some interesting oddities, etc.?
You could make so many videos on characters in CK3, you could make a video on the ones east of the hre or move over to Hispania both would make for an interesting video
An interesting video! I would like to see some characters from Bohemia, my fatherland.
Interesting fact about Rudolf von Rheinfelden, when Heinrich III. introduced his son as heir the realm (think CK2), when it was Rudolf's turn to swear alleagance to his future liege, he broke traditional protocol by giving his vow on the condition that Heinrich IV. would be a just king/emperor. This explains why he would later be chosen as the anti-king to Heinrich when the latter was excommunicated by the Pope and the Saxons and other vassals rose up against him.
I liked that you could pick the date you wanted in CK2, some fun characters you could pick
Well, I guess the most logical would be to cover stuff in EU 4
I’d love for you to cover like Persia
Pls more historical characters of the ck3 world!
You should do a few runs of the first grand strategy games, Genghis Khan from Koei on Nintendo from over 30 years ago. It was the CK3 for Gen X.
Well now that we’ll have Legacy of Persia, it would be cool if you did a video on characters in that region 😄
I would really like for you to cover Company of Hero's 2 campaign, the accuracy of the battles and the narrative. It's a game I love but the storians working on the game were pretty high 😂
One or two videos on Imperator Rome would be nice
A suggestion to review would be Pentiment
Marzoban (Count) Rustam karenzade of Mazandaran in northern iran, kingdom of daylam. his ancestors are from the ancient persian empire. Some of his courtiers are from the Baduspanid house, that ruled until the 16th century. We also have their bordering count, of Rayy, he is from the alavid dynasty which later became one of the most important dynasties in the region.
I’d love to see a video on the papacy hre and Mandate of Heaven mechanics in eu4
There's enough Assassin's Creed games that you could make any number of videos on characters and settings featured in them. And its popular enough that people will recognize it when trying to advertise the video via title and thumbnail.
For branching out, other Paradox games are always good along with the Civ games. Maybe Kingdom Come: Deliverance or looking at the plausibility of historically inspired fantasy games.
I’d love to see you guys make a Victoria 3 video. I’m sure they did a good job in that game.
Would love to see total war shogun 2 covered, from how Japan fell into a warring states period, to how they actually fought their battles, as well as important historical figures from the time period that you could play as.
An HRE DLC that develops the area more and uses historical organizations like the free cities would be so cool.
I would love to see all the intresting charcter on the ERE during the 1066 such as the komenoi and the palaiologoi with more depth
Will you make a video about the stories of the most important characters from the upcoming DLC (about Persia)?
@calvincoolidge5943

I'm asking because I don't know this region well, and your videos explain such issues well
Persia?
Lets see some persian house spotlights in perfect timing of the new dlc coming out
Assassin's Creed, is a semi historical game, that I would love to see broken down like this
Other really good historical games are more or less all other Paradox grand strategy games (EU4, HOI4 and Victoria 3)
The TW games have always had a special place. Rome 2, Medieval 2, Shogun 2, all great games with a historical setting.
I know what i must do in ck3 next
Have you mentioned Aargau in Switzerland and a member of the early generation of the Habsburg dynasty in there?
@Bannermann

Yes, in their first video he was included if I remember correctly.
Would you ever consider doing a video on historically interesting counts in the Byzantine Empire and Bulgaria? Also if you were to do these videos on the EU4 timeline you'd have enough content to last years given how extensive the timeline is. There's been a few occasions I've gone to start a game and end up just looking at the map for ages, looking at the border changes and then googling the history

Kingdom Come Deliverance could be a good way to explore some of how medieval common people lived
Another very famous member of the Visconti family was Luchino Visconti, one of the most important italian film directors of all time. He was one of the inventors of neorealism movies which inspired many worldwide directors such as Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese, and he was also the director of Death in Venice, the movie in which Bjorn Andresen starred and inspired many femboys of japanese manga/anime such as griffith, ryo asuka, etc...
You should do least intresting Character in CK3
Ever heard about expeditions rome?
make video on sub branches of catholicism (mozarabism, insularism, conversos)
Should do Kazakhstan
As a german its always funny when native english speakers try to pronounce any kind of german words or german names. To be fair, german is a difficult language and has other "tongue positions" when pronouncing syllables and letters.

The way he pronounced Hohen is so weird. Almost like Hochen
Is that a bird in the background?
Imagine having playable ancestors in the game
Slavic charecters would be cool
Total War series is ripe for historical tidbits!
Rudolf of Rhinfelden had a really cool dynasty shield in CK2, pretty lame here
Maybe you could check EU4's HRE. Or preferbly to me, the ottomans.
Some of the history behind EU4 perhaps?
Dynasty Warriors
medieval II, Rome 2
Comment the First
One of my favourite counts in the holy roman empire is count otger of spreewal whos is an easter egg character whos is in the main luncher and on the trailer of the game an his county in the duchy of ausitz
ck3? well ck2 of course!
SWABIA FORRRREVEEEERRRRRRR !!!!!
If you're interested in other historical video games, then I'm required by law to recommend Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Crazy if only I had all the DLCs..playing this dogsh with no DLCs is not fun
