Historical Costume In A Day: Regency

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video will show you multiple variations of a quick, easy-to-sew regency dress (and a couple accessories). IF YOU ARE ONLY HERE FOR ENTERTAINMENT, I RECOMMEND JUST WATCHING THE FIRST 2 MINUTES AND THE LAST 2 MINUTES (at 1.25 speed) . IF YOU ARE ONLY HERE FOR THE SEWING STUFF, JUST WATCH THE MIDDLE. IF YOU ARE HERE BECAUSE YOU'RE MY MOM OR DAD, YOU'LL PROBABLY BE DELIGHTED BY ALL OF IT.

Having lived in England for 15 years (I'm from WV and also lived in Ohio for a few years), nobody talks like that. Nobody. In the area I'm in, you'd probably have no idea what people are even saying half the time. It took me a good few years to adjust to the accent, and I'm married to a local man. The generalised posh English accent is one that I've never come across.

@Lydia Greene wow - I'm also English, and I found her English accent to be pretty decent, I was quite impressed 👏❤ but also, even if it had been terrible, I really don't get what the purpose of your negativity was, especially after the initial compliment generated such happiness ❤ Anyway, 2 to 1 Micarah: good job on the accent 👌

micarah, i relate with u so much, I was homeschooled, we share the same love for sewing/fashion design, barbie, and all things jane austen BUT im a bit younger so i have a few questions... a) what are you studying in college? are you even in college/how old are you? b) do you sew these outfits by pure guess and, like, copying, or do you watch/read how-to's? c) where did u learn how to draw, and what's the best sewing machine u recommend? mine i got when I started doing basic stuff in 2nd grade, but it's really old and with all of these new cool one machines out there, what dO u recommend? c) what do you do for a job rn? do you hope to become a professional designer? ok THATS ALL ILYSM 💟 keep being amazing 😚

Thanks for this tutorial, Micarah! I actually tried to follow it when making a regency dress of my own! I wanted to go more historical-ish, so I used ribbons to tie up the neckline, sleeve puffs, and waist. It didn't turn out quite as good as it might have if I'd used elastic, but it worked and I'm happy with it. Quite.

my favorite thing about your videos is that you show your mistakes. Like sure it makes the video feel a bit different but as someone who sews and CONSTANTLY makes mistakes, has to make compromises, etc, It just makes me feel so much better to see that someone else is ALSO just as reckless at times as me and it just brings so much relief haha. I love it.

I was looking for a Regency Era dress to were to a Jane Austin Opera/Convention and saw this video. Hilarious! It seems everywhere I look on the internet is telling me that I can't use Butterick or Simplicity because they aren't "authentic," and here you are using elastic! I love it! Super simple too if only I could draw a sleeve well. Mine always turn out wonky.
