Historic Charm and Modern Design: Swiss National Museum | ARCHITECTURE HUNTER

Ойын-сауық

The National Museum Zurich's expansion, opened in July 2016, complements the original 1898 building by Gustav Gull. The new wing, next to Platzspitz Park, integrates with the historical structure to form a unified ensemble. It includes flexible exhibition spaces, a library, and an auditorium, with a central bridge motif linking the courtyard and park. The design blends old and new, using thick walls and tuff concrete to mirror the original facade while meeting modern insulation standards. The refurbishment also updated the main entrance and visitor facilities, adding open-air dining to enhance the museum's urban appeal. Dive into The Panorama of the Swiss National Museum!

Caramba, como arquitetura mordena glamuriza o feio e o grotesco. Basta comparar com o prédio ao lado. Um verdadeira obra de arte enquanto o outro não passa de um enalteciomendo ao vazio. Deprimente.

I know what you mean about pace and desaturation

The building itself looks interesting. But, I had to stop watching this video about halfway through because the pace was too slow and the desaturated color grading makes it kind of depressing to watch.
