Hi, hello and what a list! I had no idea who Lafayette was until we tried watching the Benjamin Franklin show on Apple (AWFUL BY THE WAY we did not and will not finish it) and wow, what a guy! I'd definitely be interested in a good story on him and his life since his wikipedia page is quite the ride. He was a huge part of the American Revolution and then turned around and became a huge part in the French Revolution I'm sure with good time management and planning you can knock all those books out! Thanks again for sharing and take care

Hi, hello~ Good to know not to watch Benjamin Franklin on Apple. Noted. I don't know what Apple is. 🤣 I'm guessing it's a streaming company? Once I got a phone call from someone supposedly from a company regarding cable. I told her we didn't have cable. She kept going. I told her we don't have TV. Then she went in with streaming. I asked, "what's streaming?" chirp, chirp. I thought she hung up. LOL She explained it to me and I said, "uh, yeah, we don't do that either." Obviously. It was hilarious. She must have thought I dropped down from mars or something. Lafayette and George Washington became friends during the Revolution and remained friends afterwards. yes, his family was in danger during the French Revolution. I'm looking forward to reading it, but it will probably be a keeper and not an unhaul, to try and whittle down my collection for moving. There are three months to read those four books. It should be easy peasy. Hope you all have a great week. Oh, we had three skunks on our property last night. 😲

I recently added a middle grade biography on Lafayette to my TBR. It's only 98 pages. LOL I will have to check out the one by Unger.

I hope the middle grade biography is enjoyable. In March I read a mg book on the Wright Brothers and I was so happy I did, because it filled in a lot of empty spots that David McCullough didn't cover in his book on the brothers.

New subscriber here. I would pick the Ben Franklin book. Because he was a unique and incredibly intelligent person. Love your channel. My name is James!

James, do you keep unsubscribing from me? Or is it youtube? You recommend starting with the Ben Franklin book by Walter Isaacson? I'm going to need a dictionary next to me. I think his verbiage will be intense. The author Stacy Schiff is like that too. Glad to have you back James. ~Erion

@@BookZealots I actually don't know if YT did it or I did it myself. I mostly used my phone on YT and everything is so small. Or I use the YT app on my grandsons PS4. So either way I could be the perpetrator? Oh, if the books are hard to read then I would find something easy on the eyes and vocabulary.

@@Littlebiglibrary I do not know how people use their phones for youtube. I deleted that app from my phone. I've never used a gaming system for online. Do you like it? LOL I like challenging books, just not every page.

Kudos. Excellent presentation. Two questions. (1) What do you think is the best biography of Napoleon ? (2) Have you read "Hadji Murat" by Leo Tolstoy ?

No to your second question and I, (Prometheus) have only read the one biography. Napoleon by Andrew Roberts, but it's an excellent biography.

@@BookZealots - I didn't realize that! I would have been more interested in participating again if I didn't feel like an outsider. The man who created the event chose, in my opinion, too many co-hosts. The long list of co-hosts were his inner circle of history book Booktube friends I guess, and then there were a few people like you and me who were excluded from the list of co-hosts, and I just felt like an outsider who wasn't really included in their circle of friends. I don't know if you got that feeling, but as much as I love reading history books I just wasn't going to do that again. I can enjoy history reading without feeling unworthy of being in the group. But then, look at me this year; I volunteered to be a Summer of Sport co-host because Mark said he wanted female Booktubers on his list and I thought I could bring a different perspective: sports for old women! There's no rules for these events, but as much as I liked the idea of Historathon I just lost interest in being part of it, for this year, at least. I admire you for hanging on. Did you ever join their Discord group?

You tube keeps deleting my comments. Let us know your review on Lafayette. I live near Lafayette ga. Le Faye ette. Us southerners say. 😂 anyway!! He was so beloved back in the revolutionary days by people as well as George Washington and others. I think he came back twice to visit. I’ve tried to comment 3 time to let you know about a bargain book catalogue I received in case you were interested buck it keeps getting deleted. The prices are pretty good and shipping is $4 per order.

youtube is messing with my channel. I am sorry for the frustraiton. I cannot control it. What's the name of the catalogue? When youtube behaves badly, you can email me on goodreads or gmail if you want. Oh that's interesting how Georgian's say Le Faye ette. I've never heard it pronounced that way. Thank you for thinking of me regarding the book catalogue. Again, sorry about youtube censorship. =(

@@BookZealots it was autocorrected. I meant la Faye ette. I’m originally from Tennessee. Us Tennesseans and Georgians have our on language. My parents were from Georgia my paternal grandparents were from sevierville.
