Ali Siddiq is a stand-up comedian, public speaker, and writer out of Houston. Ali’s unique style of stand-up began behind the walls of incarceration, an incubator for interesting experiences and good stories.
People received their first taste of Ali Siddiq when he appeared on HBO's DEF COMEDY JAM and LIVE FROM GOTHAM, and in 2013 he was named Comedy Central's "#1 Comic to Watch". In 2014, Ali impressed comedy enthusiasts by displaying his ability to captivate an audience with his "Mexicans Got On Boots" tale, descriptive storytelling, with over 15 million views, of a prison riot on THIS IS NOT HAPPENING, the first of three appearances. His stories continued with his HALF HOUR special, which premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2016. Immediately following the premiere of that special, Comedy Central offered Ali an hour-special where he performed for inmates live in a Texas jail, sending Ali back to where it all started. The hour special, Ali Siddiq: It’s Bigger Than These Bars, premiered in February 2018 on Comedy Central. In 2019, Ali could be seen as a Top 5 finalist on NBC’s BRING THE FUNNY. Most recently, Ali could be seen as a guest on THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE.

As a Mexican, I appreciate you being able to laugh with us, and chill with us. I was cracking up 😄...comedy is about laughing with people, the sooner we laugh together as a country, and not be so delicate and try to be so PC over everything. the sooner we can really be the greatest country in the world... Together we stand, divided we will fall ...

@papinacho9283 we need to support each other more rather than be envious of each other. It's a real problem within the mexican culture. There's that saying, "a Mexicans worst enemy is another Mexican." I absolutely hate that and wish it wasn't true.

Sometimes I'll stay with family friends and she would come and talk to me and be like. Hey, I've noticed this car's been parked across the street for about 2 hours now. I'm not sure if I should call the cops and I'd be like do you want me to ask 'em what they're doing here? She'd be like no, I don't know and so I'd go and ask and the person's like oh sorry, I've just been having a conversation for this whole time and I didn't want to drive...

Grandma watching TV with a Corona, watching a drama or the kids playing, men talking about work at 3 in the morning, women somewhere there's a comfortable bed-even on an airmattress. Cousins all over the bedroom floors with bags of hot chips and candy. Then at around daybreak the damnrooster wakes everyone up and they start cleaning to loud music pissing off the neighbors😊😂🔊🎵🎶

2:24 😆Mexican, grew up in Socal. Never did our house get broken into it. There was always someone home and lights on. With 8 kids and too many backyard dogs, there was always someone running around. We knew when our neighbors were away and when someone new was around. You don't screw around with a Mexican house. Someone did try to steal our beat up car, but one of us ran out and scared him away. 👀 Always watching.

This is so true! I used to live in the student family housing at my university and sure enough, the Mexican family always let me know when/if the maintenance stopped by. I miss my old neighbors. Also, I’m Mexican, nosy and home most of the time and you better believe I’ll be letting my neighbors know if something looks shady

So true! I told my husband that a Hispanic neighborhood would be so great to live in! My parents bought two condemned side by side shotgun houses in a Houston barrio in the 80s. Crack houses and cat houses next door and drug dealers on the corner. We lived in one when they were still dirt poor before I hit preschool. My former Mexican nanny married our El Salvadorian family friend, whom my mom started her landscape design company with, and sold the other house for like 10,000 grand. They lived in that tiny house with three generations of family, and my brothers and I later took turns living in the remaining house next door. They watched out for us 24/7 and come over to take care of urgent matters when we weren't there.
