It was a matter of preparation. Hisoka even let Chrollo choose the location of the fight. Chrollo didn’t cheat like ppl are saying, he simply prepared a waterproof plan given the location and how his abilities synchronized. Idk if Hisoka underestimated Chrollo or was too confident. But Hisoka’s battle IQ is off thr charts in this fight seeing how he could keep up with Chrollo’s plan in the middle of the fight. Only Togashi can make shit like this!!

Hisoka always had good battle IQ for sure. But to be fair Chrollo laid everything he was gonna do down in the beginning. Told him everything and bodied him afterwards. Chrollo is a monster too

By the time Hisoka realized Chrollo was going to win, it was already way too late. Chrollo even told Hisoka before the fight, that Chrollo had a 100% chance of winning. Hisoka, overconfident, accepted his own defeat.

Not really this is exactly why people rather watch DBZ chrollo's a bitch with that weak ass way of fighting running and hiding bs don't nobody wanna see that. hunter hunter has better fights.

This is why I love hxh so much as a shounen. The battle was like two chess grandmasters in the finals. Fights in most shounen are usually about who is stronger or having some overpowered ability obtained during a fight. Here, we see a person win by running away and using synergy between different techniques to win. Love it. He took advantage of Hisoka's one weakness. His unyielding lust for combat.

I don’t think it’s talked about enough that Chrollo was finding loopholes to contracts on Nen abilities. That’s a game changer if that’s possible for other users.

Just one mistake, the three second sun and moon explosion isn’t powerful enough to blow up the arena. It was stated that a full power blast will blow anyone to smithereens nothing else.

Here's the thing, Chrollo has many chances to end the fight by stabbing Hisoka with the antenna and control him, but he did not do that. Now, its easy to think that "well, the reason he didn't do it was because he wants to fight with style, remember?", but I think there's more to it. The reason why Chrollo didn't stick the antenna to Hisoka even tho he has many chances was because in order to get total control (coercive type, which what black voice ability is), you need to match up your AOP with the target's POP, if you can't, then you won't be able to get total control. There're other ways to "control" them, 1. by outputing the same aura with target's POP, isn't really practical since it will have high aura fuel, 2. waiting for the target to exhaust their aura, isn't really practical either since the point of sticking the antenna is to have total control, and you can just win anyway since you already exhaust their aura, 3. is to lessen the degree of control by using other type of manipulation, psuedo-coercive, soliciting, or induction.

@@santiagocabrera I think it's like the aura you are putting out in the moment versus the total aura potential of the opponent. The originalcomment is basically saying that's too big a wall for Chrollo to jump over. Hisoka is a beast so his potential aura may even be greater than Chrollo's, not even to mention that the aura he'd need to output in the moment would possibly leave him at a huge disadvantage.

The way this fight was introduced to me made me so hyped for it more than any other fight, I saw just the picture of Hisoka afterwords when his face and his hand is blown up and I was left to think with what Chrollo did to him until like a year later I saw the manga chapters

The fact that Hisoka gave him time to prepare and let him choose the location proves that we aren’t 100% sure if either of them would win in a spontaneous battle.

This fight is the one that made me realize that fighting a nen user and not knowing what their ability is is terrifying

What's really surprising is how much nen Chrollo has to be able to do all those different hatsu so many times

@@Nox-02 When chrollo fought the zoldyks he just gave up after resisting for minutes , but zoldyks left him alive .that’s what happened . Chrollo and whole spiders against kurapika shows how overrated they are , Kurapika outsmarted them , killed one of their strongest member and strongest dualist , captured chrollo smacked him and freed him on his condition and was the reason on the death of one other member . Every prepared hunter would kill hisoka not just chrollo , the whole nen system is built that way .

can u also make a video about what happened to kurapika? i mean I never heard of him in the manga that much

Apparently he actually died but before he programmed his postmortem bungee gum nen to pump and circulate all the things in his body he needs to live bringing him back to life. Plus now his bungee gum is stronger, machi was going to stitch him up but he healed himself with his gum and replaced his hand with a fully functional bungee gum prosthetic, I’d imagine there are other buffs postmortem bungee gum has…

I don't know why but for some reason I feel when Chrollo and Hisoka meet up again Chrollo will lose on purpose. Taking a page from Hisako he'll die and then resurrect himself somehow, and all of that will end up making Chrollo stronger🤔

Well that was mistake of Hisoka to fight Chrollo with such a huge crowd. As stated by Machi, Hisoka can't win that fight. Damn I want a rematch, 1v1

If Chrollo didn't give him too many hints he would haven't have survived he was too arrogant in his victory

Chrollo cheated that's why Hisoka is targeting the Spiders because they cheated him from an honourable 1v1 duel. Chrollo prepared puppets in the audience beforehand, i.e. a booby trap therefore dishonourable. Chrollo would only cheat if he thought he couldn't win. Hisoka is completely justified in what he is doing and of course so are the Spiders for defending Chrollo...even though he is a cheater.

@@dlikescheese Chrollo didn't have to agree to the duel, if he thought he'd lose all he'd have to do is decline, Hisoka would fight him anyway and the Spiders would help and Hisoka would've accepted the fight under those circumstances. Chrollo cheated.

Chrollo was highly prepared and his abilities also involved people, one can even argue it isn’t cheating because he explained his abilities to Hisoka. A fighter doesn’t have to explain anything

@@dlikescheese Death isn't an excuse to drop your pride, death isn't an excuse to forget the concept of mutual combat and consent. they agreed to fight one on one, to the death perhaps, but one on one. outside interference is a direct violation of the terms they agreed to. you sound like a child not willing to accept accountability for their decisions, willing to flip over a chessboard the second things don't go your way & and call it winning. this is why hisoka's reasoning sounds stupid to you.

No cheating was involved. Puppets can be created instantly with Gallery Fake. Even Kortopi implied that he could conjure 50 copies of entire buildings with the hatsu if he wanted to.

You're wrong. There are definitely cases in real life games or fights where someone who is extremely confident may explain what they are going to do before they do it to taunt their opponent and because they are so confident they will win even if they explain it. It's not unrealistic in the right situation, like here, it's only unrealistic when certain fictions have every stupid villain do it every time for no reason. HxH is not that. Chrollo wasn't even being overconfident either, it was entirely reasonable. He knew he had a 100% chance of defeating Hisoka, and that's how it played out. There was nothing Hisoka could do essentially, he was doomed and Chrollo knew it. This wasn't like in a lot of fiction where the stupid bad guy explains his motives and plan and then loses because he was explaining instead of just acting. Chrollo knew he would win, explained it to taunt Hisoka for style, and then he won like he knew and said he would. Also, there has been at least one case I know of in HxH of explaining an ability being a condition for an ability, which allows it to be more powerful or can act as a trigger, which was the case with Genthru. Chrollo never explains what condition he took on to gain the bookmark, just that he did have to take on a condition. It seems decently likely that the condition actually was that he had to tell his opponent of and explain the book mark, or perhaps even the ability he wishes to use as well. If that is revealed, that it's not just in character, but was actually required by the power system.
