Hisense UX Review - How Good is This Mini-LED TV?

Ғылым және технология

Get the Hisense UX: www.rtings.com/afflink/AbUAAJ...
The Hisense UX is Hisense's highest-end TV in 2023, and it sits above the Hisense U8/U8K in the company's ULED lineup. It's a limited release and, in some ways, is the unofficial successor to Hisense's previous experimental high-end TV, 2021's Hisense U9DG. The UX is only available in an 85-inch size in North America and is packed with cutting-edge technology. It has over 20,000 Mini-LEDs with 5000 local dimming zones and is advertised to hit 2500 nits peak brightness in HDR, with a 150000:1 contrast ratio. The TV's display uses a quantum dot layer alongside an anti-glare screen and an ultra-wide viewing angle filter. Like other Hisense TVs, the UX supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, is certified as IMAX Enhanced, and is Dolby Atmos compatible. For gamers, the TV is fully featured: it's advertised as being capable of Dolby Vision gaming at 120Hz, it has two HDMI 2.1 bandwidth ports that can do up to 4k @ 120Hz with variable refresh rate support, and comes with Hisense's Game Mode Pro. Finally, it has the user-friendly Google TV interface, which is easy to use, and has a great selection of streaming apps.

    The "upscale low resolution things" part is really important if you play old games on old consoles like PS3. It's been a pleasure to play PS3 games on my Samsung QN90A thanks to its great (imo) processing. If only it didn't have all the other Samsung problems.

    I get blinded by 600nit tvs and below already. This TV has to be insane! Imagine a white screen popping up for an ad or part of a movie. Except the screen never goes away lol since it's burned into your eyes!

  • @chibbyylol

    @chibbyylol

    Note the nits is dispersed outwards and not focused on your eyeballs like a flashlight. It won't be that retina burning lol. Also distance plays a factor; rtings suggest ~12ft for 85" which would have you perceiving it not as bright as you would if you were siting right in front of it obviously

  • @ducatii360

    Ya honestly the nits are extremely bright, and I find brightness in the background will shine through the image in the foreground which is kind of unsettling to watch it’s like the foreground becomes transparent. Part of this issues is when you have the brightness lower watching a movie but when you go into the options menu they are max brightness and makes it super blinding when watching in the dark. But honestly I love this TV I just hope there are better firmware updates to address some issues and some better calibration settings for those of us that are new to these things.

    Too bad it can't pass thru LPCM 7.1 to eARC like the U8K (which I own) and the U7K. I believe those are the only two TVs on the market that support all current HDR formats AND pass thru both LPCM 7.1 & all DTS formats; all other TVs block either one of the HDRs (most notably Sony), LPCM > 2.0 (like this one), or DTS. My pet peeve is a little different from Switch owners (older Blu-rays with LPCM 5.1 / 7.1 tracks, plus Criterions with LPCM mono which my UB820 nominally expands to 5.1 to use ONLY the center speaker), but I don't understand why so few TVs on the market fail to support all HDMI audio & video up to the capabilities of current equipment.

    @@Shift4gsmart. If my tv broke down 1 year earlier n i might have bought your tv. I got the flagship Hisense in 2020, 2021 222 lol. I gave 1 tv to my family instead. Yeah dude if u have seen the NEWER GEN HISENE. They are INSANE. I thought that original H9G was So nice on its own since its sent to bdr for 2 yrs. I finally y pulled OUT of it to put beside my 1800 nit one. OMG for the first time that thing I loved so much looked so inferior. I was floored. Seriously u gonna go to store to check out their 2023 models u8K. It’s Signifantly HIGHER Color volume (it has Matching Color Voume with Samsung S95B and SONY A95L, all at 9.0/10 on Rtings). Long time ago when i got a $3000 for 46” quite crazy LED. The sales guy told me “industry secret” that most of them they pitch “how black “ to customers to up sell tv. But black is no big deal most color are not black on tv. Most colors are not against black , its d color VOLUME n Brightness creat transition shades with good blooming control ,,its MORE 3D. That UX has INSANE Color Volume 9.5. That’s like d HIGHEST on tv testing Hystory. D BRIGHTER the tv gets d MORE color volume it needs otherwise it can look like a Tint or pestle (red can look like water melon) . With 5000 Local dimming, Dense tight grip on blooming control, n its a MINI LED, NOT our our old Hisense H9G or your P series. Insane peak brightness (it can produce way more mid range shades for most scenes like 1200-1600 easier n more accurately than all of our TVs that our tv condense/crush color/shades.) the LED laminated walls etc at night walk just will look more butter fluid more comforting. Your tv has same color Volume(on Rtings) as my Original Tv lottory in 2020 d H9G. Beside a 1800nit Newer beast my 65” i pulled my tv out of bdr. For d first time…in shock that my 2020 Vibrant flagship tv looked “WASHED OUT” lol. It lost that previous glory in a snap. That UX will offer def MUCH more butter fluid 3D visual on very subtal way. The videos dont tell. I mean you have QLED, u know when it’s on peak Brighness like this video. The image doesn’t look normal . That thing is a Beast. If they come out a more refined version next yr i am buying it. : 😊

    Yeah, this TV has a high contrast - that's great ! But it has some problems with gradient handling and picture processing and the picture presets. So, contrast isn't everything. It up/dims d tv according to d room lighting. It’s like what Smart phone does. Laptops did NOT used to have those sensors before. Now they do. But cellphones always had those sensors. TVs did NOT have those sensor for most part for the cheaper lower tiers Sony Samsung etc. they only had those sensors on flagship n other close to flagship models. So ppl did NOT know what is sensor, why it’s there. Check it out. I dont know about tcl but Hisnse has d “sensor” on out of box. It makes viewing experience much better. If u have VERY bright room n a lots sun light, lights on . Tv will Automatically turn up. I do notice they dim tv a bit more than need to. I put a small light weight led lamp ( i meant to buy tv led light strips at back, but just testing with small lamp) behind my tv . OMG game changing. Wouldn't bother with a Hisense TV. Had the TV for 2 years 1 month, manufacture warranty ran out at 2 years, conveniently the TV has now packed in working and can't be fixed! I paid just over £800 for the TV 2 years ago and now I'm left with none. Surely not a coincidence that the TV stopped working as soon as the warranty ran out? Wouldn't bother.

    So Sony X95L is better even with Hisense more superior hardware technology. I just bought the X90L and I’m convinced Sony is the best. Brightness is irrelevant if it can’t produce an accurate picture and is too bright it hurts to look at, especially at night. I don’t get the point in having such a bright tv in the home. You are just going to turn the brightness down.
