Hisense actually provides Google certification if you buys directly from them from China, though you have to ask them directly. They will ask a additional 200 yuan, about 30USD and a additional day or two. Though it will be still cheaper than 3rd party seller online. Hisense actually ship Google services rigid phones that are explosion protection outside China. For workers working in place prone to explosion.

Great review, thank you! Just to clarify, if you turn off the colour option it becomes exactly the same as an A5 pro? (I'm not sure if I'd like the greyish tone of the white when the colour filter is on, and if I'd hate it, I may just want to turn it off.) I'm also debating about buying one when an A9 colour might be on the way, and that'd be with bigger pixel density? I couldn't see any news about this, but surely, they must be working on it after the A9 is out.

Hey Matteo thank you very much. In 2023, are there any updates to the software/root that makes it better as a daily driver? Like google accounts compatibility and notifications?

This is without a doubt the best video about the A5 Pro CC, thank you. A very interesting phone! I would love to have one, but if it doesn't have Google Services or Huawei Services, my mobile bank id wont work and I need it for taxes, banking, etc. :/

Thank you for your nice words! Unfortunately even if you can install Google apps, there's still a percentage that it will not work properly! So I have to agree with you! However, A5 Pro cc is a good secondary phone!

Thanks for the review! This is much better than many, if not all, other reviews. I am considering buying the a7cc, but I am waiting to see reviews or comments about the new screen technology ( AFAIK it uses kaleido 2.0 instead of 1.0)

Hi hilda! Thank you so much for your nice comment! I really appreciate it! And now let's answer your questions! 1)because Maps is based on a Google service. But believe me you can use it anyway. This will not compromise it and you can use it without problem. The only thing is that you can not save your favorite places and so on... 2)at the moment Google drive will not work unless you use the Web version (through the browser). About KZread: I suggest using KZread vanced. Its a modded version that works really good. 3)yes. You can just set through the settings it it you want to. Let me know in case there is anything else you want to know!

Great review! I'm thinking of getting either a Hisense Q5 or waiting for the TCL Nxtpaper. Have you used the Q5? People seem to complain about the glare being a problem, but the Nxtpaper prototype looked like it would have the same issue. I need a long-term solution for professional videocalls, which I can't really use a Dasung for.

Great review and many question answered others haven't ! My question : You mentioned the ability to turn the phone black and white. Does this increase viewability in low light conditions and does it compare to the Hisense A5 in that realm ? Also : Would you say color is needed for google apps ? I am trying to decide between the Hisense A5 and the A5C and I want to use the frontlight as little as possible.

If you need to use less front light as possible I suggest you (without doubts) hisense A5 (or A7). Color eink is really an interesting technology but the screen is darker.

@@matteoaccardi6759 I assume switching off the color layer, Classic Eink mode, there is still the rgb grid visible. Can you say how much darker it is compared to an A5?

E-ink screen still needs 15 years of R&D to just reach LCD type colour reproduction , sharpness level as well as sharpness but its worth waiting for . This ebook tech can work wonders as a pc/laptop screen if it matures later !

Hello Farad, the display looks the same as black and white eink device (like A5 Pro). However, the white is a little grayer compared to A5 (or yotaphone)

Hi Matteo, I finally bought the Hisense :) I have purchased also the protector from Brotect. But instead the one you show that says "Matte" in the right lower corner, I bought a more expensive one that states "Airglass" and "Matte". My surprise when receiving it is that it's flexible! But the demonstration video by Brotect shows it's real glass, with the same protection of glass but thinner and lighter. I feel quite unsure though because of the flexibleness of the material. Have you used this kind of protectors and what's your opinion about them?

@@matteoaccardi6759 Thank you for your feedback. I won't try the protector yet, as the phone came with a tempered glass already on it. So I wanted to be sure as I will keep the protectors as spare part. I think this phone is not being manufactured anymore so better to have all the necessary for its whole useful life.

would be cool to have one around 5 inches, 5.8 is quite big for a phone

Per i google services puoi utilizzare l'app 2accounts che funge da sandbox ma ovviamente è una soluzione temporanea. ho fatto una guida al riguardo per spiegare passo passo come far funzionare la maggior parte delle app google, la trovi sul mio canale 😉. L'acquisto invece l'ho fatto con cect shop!

Very informative review ! Glad to see so many details ! Can you tell me how can i make Google calendar work on this phone? I am using hisense a5 but its terrible for Google calendar Sync and notification... I am looking for a solution to use calender with fully functional app / Sync & notification... Anyone who knows how to fix it please i have tried many things but nothing works ... One more thing hisense a5 has terrible Bluetooth Which is disturbing when you try to connect to any Bluetooth device it gets connected but after few seconds it loses the connection and than reconnect again but keep getting connected and disconnected

Hello!! I sync calendar between my 1 phone and the hisense using many apps like Hisense stock calendar, business calendar and so far no problem encurred. Try that and let my know! 😉 Regarding the Bluetooth try to disable all the apps optimization because they probably "kill" the processes running in the background. Maybe this is way it get on and off

This phone must come to Brasil, but with Google Apps, like maps and Uber.

I wish they made a watch version of ths phone and that it worked on United States frequencies

But aside from needing wi-fi and not running all the apps, it's a great ereader, better than any Kindle device for sure, I'm glad I bought it at least for that :)

Yes, the screen looks a little darker compared to A5. This is because it uses a lot layers to create colors. But it is worth it!

Hello Dennis! Nfc is not only for Google pay. Nfc is a technology just like Bluetooth, so you can use it in various ways!

the main thing that keeps me from getting this phone is that there is no tech support for it if there is a problem . Im using an A5 now and it cant text pictures as it did used to but now only receives. So I have no way of sending pics and there is no tech support to help with the issue.

Ciao, tutti gli operatori funzionano correttamente, tieni solo conto che essendo un telefono cinese non funzionerà la frequenza degli 800hz (ma questo non è un problema)

I like this phone because it allows me to read at day light. But I want to know how to install Uber and Google Maps on it.

They should build these eink phones with wider screens. Why ebook reader is wider than a eink phone? Both ones are for reading.

The only way to do it is by using any browser! Otherwise I am used to manage my Gmail account with BlueMail
