The TV set is standing on a Podest inside the carton box it is delivered in. It is much easier to release the plastic mountings at the bottom of the carton on each side, and lift the top carton part up. Then it is easy to remove the protective plastic bag. The other protective film you can remove after wall mounting. Even though the box is really big, you can attach the top to the bottom again with the plastic mountings, and store the whole thing with all the styrofoam and plastic bag for later. Against a wall in the basement it hardly takes up space. And you’re happy when you decide to sell the TV on after a couple of years!

Since Hisense got the Toshiba name (outside Europe as Vestel’s European brand license is still running) they sell these as Toshiba Regza in Japan and many consumers don’t know there is a difference. Although they lack originality (stand and menu design clearly influenced by Sony and Samsung/LG) I have a lot of respect for Hisense considering their humble beginning. Be careful of ‘noise reduction’ setting on them which causes what looks like motion smearing/slow panel response in when turned on in all its modes. I think the issue comes from MediaTek chips as I remember something similar even on 2013/4 Sonys.

Thanks so much, Shane! That's a great question and I'll be making a video about the steps when using the TV for the first time. Basically, I recommend that you check all the functions your TV have to ensure everything is working properly - even if you do not watch live TV, scan the channels to confirm that the tuner is functional. I would also check Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and so on.

What's your opinion on backlight bleed when you view any dark scene Dolby Vision content?

Generally, on TVs that don't have local dimming when HDR content is displayed, backlight bleed will be visible because LEDs are set to the max value (max. luminance). Backlight bleeding was visible on this unit, but generally not too distracting. I was more distracted by dirty screen effect - another issue on LCD TVs that varies from unit to unit. Yes, there is a woofer at the back of the TV. Sounds quite good actually, nice bass for this price category.

Hi, has anyone noticed a continuous creaking noise coming from the rear? This only happens when using the TV speakers, however when using external speakers like echo dot this does not happen. Thanks
