The power in the delivery is incomparable. It truly stands alone in power, beauty and message. This is one of my favorite songs to see reactions to, if not THE best. Before hearing this song, I viewed Disturbed differently. This absolutely altered my understanding of the singer, the band.
Conan Obrien , he gets such the bad ass bands on his shows . Just like this magical moment.
He was quite sick that day, so they sat him down for fear he might keel over - and he still delivered this.

Original is Simon And Garfunkel written in 1964 by Paul Simon at the age of 21. Remade/covered many times over the years but the original was out of the folk/harmonizing/doo wop era. Check out Simon and Garfunkel's Central Park Concert version from 1981 to compare. Disturbed's cover is the greatest of the remakes, hands down, but the underlying power is in the song itself written 60 years ago this year (2024).

David Draiman is the lead singer's name. In his younger years, he was classically trained as a cantor, who is someone that sings liturgical music and leads prayer in a synagogue. He was a bit naughty, though - he got expelled from multiple yeshivahs and blew up his rabbi's van 😂 He is massively talented. "A Reason to Fight" (the live version) and "The Light" are 2 of my favorite Disturbed songs.
