HIS STORY - OG SCORPIO

Ойын-сауық

On a deep research about robotics and animation, I decided to interview the legends in these 2 dance styles/techniques and asked their history and their perspectives on explanations and definitions. As these 2 styles/techniques were being created in era where there was no recordings, no internet, there has been many names for the same techniques, or the techniques changed over time, or there's many variations of the same thing etc all depending on what location you were at. In that era, everyone was doing what looked THE BEST, what was HOT, and was was appealing to the audience. They didn't care if you knew the names, or techniques, they cared about your purity and incredible moments and visuals. Naturally, all the legends have a bit different definitions of these techniques, so all we can do is to sit back, listen and analyze for ourselves.

If you grew up in LA in the 80s, you know Scorpio from Venice Beach. He danced, and crowds would gather, ALL DAY LONG! He's our very own celebrity. I remember when he wore the kung fu/karate shoes like Bruce Lee. He's always been a valuable part of the community, and we love him. Many of the younger crowd looked up to him. He's a Legend! God Bless and much Respect to you, Scorpio.

I like the different approach each OG has to explain their definitions of different aspects of dance. Bopping Andre explain the backstory, his opinion/understanding and may possibly go on a tangent to make sure he explains everything he is trying to say. Where as OG Scorpio has a "I can show you better than I can tell you" approach to his explanations and straight to the point.

Love these interviews. If you continue to do these videos, you should invest into a boom mic system or two lapels and a recorder so you can get some solid Audio

Dude is dope. I agree people have to stop naming everything as if they are all separate. Like isolation… I understand that as isolating specific body parts. Anyway… he is good at all of it. Looks crazy smooth

Thank you for teaching the word "bopping" seeing it and having it named makes all the difference. Already practice it in strikes and dance, but I can get real fundamental in practice with it.

You know I have to say I almost forgot about dancing in my days. Until my boys they're in their twenties now asked me if I could break dance. As I took it back on KZread and the Kinect one of my most favorite dancers Poppin taco and OG Scorpio. I think his style is unique.

I thought animation was a form of kinda like stop motion, flip books, story boards for an anime or cartoon. It allows you to control more time and motion with each move the FPS is depending on which beat you're hitting.

When he says animation is robot...I think he means robot is 1 character you can use in animation. As you can do many different characters in animation. Animation as a style comes from sinbad movies then they start using animation techniques with robot to get a style known as animated robot. But robot and animation are 2 different styles unless you're doing animated robot

@@wb3213 Robot is robot, everyone knows what robot is. Now animation is confusing, there is many characters in animation such as t-rex, cyclops, robot, etc...but what actually is animation? animation is not the same as robot, however robot is used in animation as a character. Animation and robot are 2 different styles, unless you're doing animated robot which is a combination of both styles together

Jaja, please excuse me for my criticism. But an interview requires dynamic camera work with close-ups and so on. I couldn't watch the video like that. 😔

I think bopping is overrated. Most people really don’t have the structure and chest cavity flexibility to make it work. It comes off looking forced and non-dance.
