The intake manifold at 5:42 is from JMF. Stock evo 8 ecu's have been able to run flex fuel for a long time now. The flex fuel tune uses a patch for TephraMod called FreeFuel, created by a user on EvoM back in 2012. To use FreeFuel you wire the flex fuel sensor directly to the ECU. An alternative to the FreeFuel patch was to use a plug and play controller called a FiTronic. The FiTronic controller would handle all the interpolation calculations internally. English Racing and TSComp iirc were the only shops that FiTronic worked with, so you had to get tuned by one of the two in order to use FiTronic. When Sam mentioned that TSComp uses his own software for flex fuel tunes I think FiTronic is what he was referring to. There is no official FreeFuel patch for Evo 9s, and I don't think FiTronic officially worked on Evo 9s, but TSComp did figure out how to tune Evo 9s on FiTronic, which is why whenever you see a stock ecu Evo 9 with flex fuel, they're typically from TSComp.

Appreciate you commenting this it will be interesting to see how the stock ecu flex fuel set up will turn out. I’ll have to get clarity on what software they end up using this concept was something Jon @ 5150racing offered to me back in like 2019-2020 so it’s cool to finally see it at some point

English stopped doing the Fitronix FF tune years ago. I live in Portland. Honestly I stopped going to English for several reasons. Way better shops and tuners in the area

Jay at boostedtuning does stock ecu flex fuel in NorCal

Anyone with an Evo 8/9 should know the wire jump on the OBD to program the keys. I took the fob apart and made a custom flip key

I agree pretty old information but some people do not know

I have the E85 tephra mod for my Evo 8. You just need the Innovate MTX gauge and a single wire goes to the stock ECU and that's all you need

When i tell you i have a full stock 8, i mean i really have a stock 8 lol. Even the ridiculous 90 degree muffler with factory exhaust…stupid restrictive

@@Jamxknife yeah he ended up using a different paper clip to connect to OBD ports 1 and 4 and that solved it

No shade against Beau at all he tuned Sam’s car when it made around 940whp at 46psi then eventually turned it up to 54psi but we never put it back on the dyno to see what it made, as far as I know he isn’t tuning Evo’s anymore though hopefully changes I wanted him to tune mine
