The guy who got shot is actually lead singer's brother. They could only film that part of the video once because it was too emotional for Gerard (singer) to imagine his little brother dying by a shoot. So all the tears and that emotion was real in that scene :(

Yes! I was going to comment about that as well- knowing Mikey and Gerard are brothers, and seeing how Gerard reacts to his little brother dying always got me.

@@lavenderllamamusic That info probably comes from how well Gerard performed in that scene. The man looked genuinely destroyed. Most people don't expect that kind of acting from a singer in a music video.

The last scene with the camera closing in on his eye represents what the war is doing to him. He’s forever scarred mentally by the things he’s seen in the war. And he’s effected by the people and friends the war has taken from him.

This album preceded “Black Parade” & both are just killer front to back…..Just an awesome rock band

The guy getting shot is Mikey, the lead singer (Gerard’s) brother and the MCR bass player and he actually has a medal of honour (which is a posthumous award if I remember correctly) on his Black Parade uniform which links this song to the album

This is THE MOST powerful MCR song ever produced. I never make it through with a dry eye.

I always try to avoid the video for this one because it tears me apart, and I don't easily cry over something :'))

This song holds a big section in my heart. I was not part of this era growing up. I was part of the late 80's- 90's. But I was a service member and this hits hard. I love that you say "no more wars." The song was about his Grandmother who died in his arms and about missing her. She basically raised him and his brother. He just arrived before she passed.

Dunno if anyone else was active in the online Sonic community back in '05 but this song was used for the trailer for the Sonic Olympics on Sonic Stadium and I'll never not associate this song with anything other than Sonic thanks to that. I haven't done research into it but I think the music video and the lyrics aren't really aligned. similar emotional story of loss and pain but not the exact story. a lot of music videos aren't exactly depicting what the lyrics of songs are describing. thats my feeling at least.

That's oddly suspicious that you paused the video right at 1:08...before you even really had a chance to realize what they were showing. Somehow you "realized" that this song was about "death and shit" from that millisecond frame of the music video. This reaction video seems fake as hell.
