I remember calling in to visit (as I use to every other day while I lived in Auckland) my eldest cousin George Tait at Torino Street, Panmure and his dear wife, my aunty Waitangi. On this particular day I walked in he had just completed composing it and he asked me to listen to it as he recited it - I recognised from the words, that he was singing about our grandmother Pihitahi Trainor (nee Wharetuna) and of course loved it straight away. I salute my karawa (close relatives) the Rangihau family for a beautiful rendition of his composition - ngā mihi nui rawa atu ki a koutou.
