I am in awe of the Israeli people and their military. If they were not God's chosen people, they'd be extinct after the horrors of the holocaust, the pogroms and the attacks on Israel. I am an American Christian and my heart goes out to Israel and its people in these dark days that are upon them. They will prevail. The prophet Isaiah told Israel: No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. God's word does not come back void.

My family is from Greece and my parents lived under Nazi occupation. I am proud that my ancestral homeland is among the righteous nations in protecting Jews from the Nazis. The Greeks and the Jews suffered in Greece under the Nazis. The Nazis committed brutal atrocities in Greece. I love this song because it reminds me of the struggles of the Jewish people and their desire to beat oppression and live peacefully. The Greek Orthodox Church gave identifications to the Jews to hide them from the Nazis and their evil brutality. I love the Jews.

sfgnyy my grandfather is from Thessaloniki. Him, his parents and siblings were in the ghettos. Luckily my great grandfather had a clothing buisness and he had connections and he managed to get his family out of the ghetto. And they hid in Athens (Italian territory). They were in Athens till the war was over and when they went back to Thessaloniki there’s barely any Jews around because almost every Jew in Thessaloniki that went to the camp’s didn’t make it back

@chichigi1990 This is an action movie, based on a real event in the 70s of the 20th century. It's one of the first where a military special force come to rescue the hostages and kick the terrorists asses. By the way the actors Buchholz and Bronson acted together 1960 in "The magnificent Seven".

This may sound ridiculous or even dumb but when I watch this movie and especially this scene I wish I'd been old enough to have gone to Israel and volunteered to go with the group. To have been in the presence of and fought beside men with such courage is indescribable for me.I've always admired the strength and courage of the Israeli people. The people of Israel have had to fight for their lives since 1948. 🇺🇸🇮🇱

I’m Catholic along with being US Cavalry, retired. I don’t understand the lyrics, but it feels like this hymn is for soldiers, which back in the days of the Old Testament, was the Jews’ main commodity on the workd market…..professional soldiers.

Nice...and I just read the psalm. But it seems almost like something is missing in the translation. I thought this was a song where maybe they were singing about God blessing Israel vs enemies. Not quite. Seems to pleasant for the intensity in which they sing this song on Eve of battle.

Though this was not carried out in a total war environment like Operation Chastise (a k a 'The Dambusters Raid') in May 1943 the 'one false move and the consequences were potentially fatal' circumstances demonstrate why this maybe should be viewed with the same importance and respect. Also given the maverick and politically unstable effects of the Idi Amin regime on Uganda who is to say that these Lockheed C-130Hs would not have been shot down if detected on radar with their intentions and identities not known? Amin was a complete charlatan whose paranoia would have easily run to such an extent especially if any knowledge of the incident was able to stay or had to stay sparse. The other huge question over these two low flying landmark achievements is could this one be viewed more as valour than bravery? The objective in this mission was to rescue and repatriate as many if not all of those taken hostage and being held in captivity against their will: The objective of Operation Chastise was to destroy selected hostile targets whatever the cost. The second mission's objective seems to describe an act of bravery being required as opposed to sounding like an act of valour ... Any views or opinions on all this please as I find this sort of thing interesting? Cheers :o)

Pilots of the plane have said they had incredible sympathy for the commandos during the flight as they figured their chance of survival was 50/50.

Billy Noon the song means “Behold how good and how pleasing / for brothers (people) to sit together in unity.” Bibi was not involved in the raid, his older brother Yoni was. He orchestrated & led it. He was the only casualty of it. He is a national hero. Bibi was an officer in the army later.
