They made up his nonexistent volleyball team in middle school just so he could have a chance to play in a real tournament. The fact that they supported him after going through all that in middle school is nothing short of precious! Those are some true brothers for life ❤

​@@billykaplan9915 because in japan you usually call ppl by lastname, and only call them by firstname when it's a close friend Or when you want to show proximity I believe Nishinoya calls him shoyo because he doesn't gives a shit about manners and don't like the hierarchy stuff and doesn't mind with the rules of good conduct In middle school calling by firstname must be usual, and anyway they seem to be close friends so it makes sense and Kenma likes hinata and see's him as a friend so same here And for Atsumu I guess he's really just simping for him and likes him so he want to show closeness even though they don't know each other

Love how mostly all of “Shōyō’s” are from his middle school friends 🥹🥺

Shoyo's middle school friends deserve all the love and praise, even his kouhais. They have their respective sports but they helped Shoyo assemble their school's boys volleyball team even if they weren't skilled enough as a volleyball player, all for Shoyo 🧡 That's why when Izumi said, "Shoyo finally found his people," it was a proud moment for them.

Shoyo's friends Izumin and Koji is always there for him even after Middle school, after highschool and even after being a professional volleyball player. They are always there to support and cheer for him.

what i love abt shoji and izumi (hinata’s middle school friends) is that they support him throughout his life. aside from middle school, they came to watch his shiratorizawa match (and i realized that for hinata it takes 30 mins to get to karasuno from his neighborhood since karasuno is one town over so traveling wasn’t a short trip) but (MILD HAIKYUU MANGA SPOILER BELOW!) when hinata plays pro vb, these two boys STILL support and root for him, coming to his games or watching them on tv if they can’t make it. though their screentime is short, they watched him grow and have been with and supported shoyo from beginning to end.

Idk but I love hearing them calling hinata, "shoyo "😭😭

The fact that Noya-san calls his teammates by their given name and only he calls Asahi by his surname is surreal. He hsd so much respect for Asahi-san to only call him by his surname. Not that he doesn't respect others. Its like Murase-san (Hinata's Seiyuu) rejecting the idea that he and Irino-san (Sugawar's Seiyuu) is the same age because they are on different levels. LIke Irino-san has the senpai vibe like Asahi-san.

He doesn't call Asahi by his surname tho, Asahi is his given name, Azumane is his family name and Nishinoya doesn't call him Azumane-san. He's on a first name basis with everyone except for the other first years (he calls Tobio, Kei and Tadashi by their family names) and Sugawara.
