Himalayan 450 first look, prices, launch dates UK and accessories info + competition announcement!
My local RE dealership had an open evening for locals to see the new Himalyan 450, so i decided to use the oportunity to make this video.
Overall a very interesting bike, a lot of expectations after the success of the 411. After speaking to many different people its fascinating to see how different everyone's expectations are. Some expect it to be a perfect off roader, some want a tourer and some want a rtw bike (plus many more!!) I can imagine more people will be disappointed than be pleased, seems a difficult situation for RE. Will be interesting to see how it's received in the west!

Really good to hear your thoughts on that. That engine will be unlike any other RE I think. I really like the look of it. You made some good points there 👍🍻

Thank you ER, really appreciate the support and I hope people will move past what they expect the bike to be Vs what it is - and appreciate it for what it is, it's another option in the market and for overland travel another really interesting option!

I hadn't relaised that they were doing it with tubless tyres. A good move for us lazy westerners. I must admit I'm not a fan of the intergated rear lights/ indicators. A extra light brake/tail light mounted below the numberplate would fix that. I'm glad you noted about the knee area with the tank. If my memory recalls I didn't have much room on the 411 myself. In my opion this RE taking a proper attempt at the western market. Look forward to seeing it in flesh.

I have to say I agree with you about the rear light, but also the front beam wasn't particularly bright either but I didn't get to see it at night - but I'd imagine it would need a upgrade too. It feels like a lot of things were left to customise to the customers requirements. But the question will be how much did it cost 😱😔

Oh yes, I think the knee will be ok, but the footpeg position will be tight after riding the bullet for 3 years now! If you look at the video and look at my foot angle, you will see what I mean 😔
