Really wish we would have gotten more Kevan in the show.

I don't think we get that much Kevin in any place. Like he is a supporting character not even a secondary one and at least in the show it does that perfectly. Adds some narration when needed, has clear and straightforward forward purposes both in universe and as a character ( helps the Lannistars, Tywin's little brother and they have a decent bond/might I say love between them, is a good general and war strategist presumably etc.) Unfortunately not all the characters are written equally. Him and his family side represents a more honourable type of lannister (or at least they try to be) in order to make clear that just because Tywin is brutal, the twins nasty Joffrey crazy and tyrion a drunk it does not mean the lannisters are all bad or violent. It's the same thing with the northerners when we see the Bolton and other houses. We think of the north as good people but honestly they have a clear barbarism and brutality in them that's why the Starks needed to rule them with power as well not only trough love

​@@CornG4397 and arguably one of the most important POV chapters in the whole dang series given we get to see not only multiple plots get explained but also small peak behind the mask that Varys is always putting up because he knows a dead man tells no secrets.

Kevan Lannister isn’t as famous as his brother Tywin because he isn’t as cruel or ego driven. His competency and work-ethic would’ve saved Kings Landing if he had been in charge.

Can't even say for sure tbh. I think that he as a character makes the best out of his TV time (or book time) he is good at managing and has a work ethic loves his family and is quite a nice guy overall especially compared to the main Lannistars like Tywin or the twins. We don't really know too many flaws of him he is just there to show a nicer side of the Lannistars and to die in the books for more chaos😊

@@dv9239 because even for a seemingly uncrackable armor like tywin you are useless witouth a shield a sword a healmeth and other tools. That is why tywin needed the mountain and others like him, his children to an extent but most importantly maybe his brother (technically the only one he actually liked) Kevan was the perfect tool to use together with the Armour basically a supporting plate so Tywin does not Crack

When tywin died cersei automatically thought she was queen lol

@@haroon420 Cersei as a woman doesn't inherit the titles. Jamie is a Kingsguard and can't inherit any titles. Tyrion, the de-facto heir, is considered a traitor to the realm and seen as the murderer of King Jofferey and due to that wouldn't be allowed to inherit. That leaves the closest male relative Kevan, Tywins brother and thus, de-facto head of the Lannisters

It’s moments like this that shows how stupid Cersei was. She always believed power judged your intellect. When all she done after Tywin died was make wrong move after wrong move.

I liked Kevan. He was highly competent. He knew what Cersei was, and wouldn't tolerate her bs.

Tywin may be more famous and scary then his brother kevin but kevin still a lanister and a lion he wont be bent to her will

Spoilers for the book: . . . . . . . . That’s exactly what was happening in the book leading Varys to kill him because Tommen’s reign being good thanks to Kevan’s competence was jeopardising his vision for the realm.
