I'm confused why people are so shocked by Ville's speaking voice. If you've heard any of HIM's music, you know how incredibly deep and rich his voice is. So it makes perfect sense that his speaking voice is this luxurious. Love the accent too.....

Ville Valo is one of those singers who really inspires me. A guy with a very heavy low voice, who sings like a metal God, which is an extreme rarity. He's also a super humble person, such a great dude!

Bless Peter Steele! I get so sad every time I hear his name mentioned in the past tense.. It's just too tragic. But how amazing, and aweing that he left such a brilliant and beloved catalogue for us all, and the many generations to come, to discover, fall in love with, and cherish for many more decades to come.. His art was so unique, and will live on forever... I absolutely adore Peter Steele! Without him, I never would have discovered many of the bands that got me through hard times and literally formed the soundtrack of my chaotic teen years (including HIM).

And all the questions he's been asked have been already confirmed in his previous interviews years ago. still it's such a delight watching him esp. his expression at 2:02 and then at 9:26 as he pats Mige's shoulder...he's so precious.

For me personally, it's my first time hearing his spoken voice. I was really late to finding the band :( and I've never watched an interview because so many if the interviewers were so bad at it that it made me uncomfortable...

Interesting about the Join Me In The Death, when I was a sophomore in high school I bought my first HIM album Uneasy Listening Vol.1 and wrote the lyrics to join me in death on the back of a test when I was finished with it. The next day my teacher called my mom telling her that she thought I was suicidal and my mom took away the CD -_- but eventually I got it back. Got to see them play in Sacramento last year and it was awesome

I was suicidal and listening to Join me in Death and Don't fear the Ripper, Gone with the Sin along with their other songs. People can interpret them differently. Some people more literally. If someone is psychotic, for example, they can literally think it's someone calling them to literally join them in death and they don't think there's any space for a different interpretation since Ville is alive and well and never tried to kill himself seriously. But it's not for the song/H.I.M. to blame so much, but for the people around them and their traumatizers because they're acting out their early traumas and all the things they have delusions about are related to that :(

He stopped drinking back in 2007 & has been vegetarian since he was a teenager. On the road he is a strict vegan (but eats chocolate) as stated in the interview included in digital versatile doom

He didnt have anything to do with that, but it's still an ok question to ask because it depends on how mentally ill people are how literally they interpret his songs which were clearly born out of his own unhealthy states but he's healthy enough to handle these feelings as opposed to people who kill themselves and/or other people. Calm down.
