I like watt-hours. But I am biased. I have three, five and six cell power tools. I also have an RV with a 12v 2.4 kWh battery and a 48v 5.2 kWh battery. Using watt hours makes it easier for me to calculate energy transformation. I did have a a funny experience in the US at Lowe’s. I wanted to buy a 2Ah Kobalt 24v battery. They didn’t have any on the shelf - but they were in a shipping box high up on a shelf. The employee had a lot of trouble finding them. The problem was that the shipping box specified 48 watt-hours in big letters, and amp-hours was either missing or in tiny text. I’m pretty sure the reason for this is that air transport rules specify 100 watt-hours max.

They're a great measure but I can see why they simplify it to Ah in the context of a tool system. And yeah, Wh makes it better for transporters to work out how much kaboom they're dealing with. I dunno why they don't use Joules but I guess it's specific to electrical rather than chemical energy

That's a really nice design feature! They've thought of everything to keep these tools in action for as long time it seems

Please position the camera while drilling in such a way that your hands are fully visible. In this way, the intensity of transmitted vibration and the effectiveness of vibration protection will be visible; this is clear and very important. Thank you.

I jumped to Hilti from Makita LXT/XGT when Nuron released with a full tool set and Makita..well…Makita can’t be bothered with the US. We’re on opposite schedules. 😂

Older looks nicer. Almost like a solid piece with battery installed. New one doesn't look that's good. They probably had to make black piece of plastic shape same as battery shape.

Its funny you should mention the Fein rotary at 18:01 . I was going to buy one, right up until I found out it was made in india. For high end rotary hammers I believe the buck stops with Duss. Next time I head up north (Sydney) I'll bring one up with me for you to test if you want.

Still no chisel only mode? Hilti needs to catch up since this is the perfect size for lots of smaller chiseling work and most other brands have that.

The 6 has chisel and it’s barely much larger. I want to see the mythical TE-4 size that chisels. I’ve been hearing this complaint for 10-15 years about every brand.

@@ma_ple Real shame, I have a 12v metabo SDS which would be really nice with a hammer only mode, don't understand why they do it since a little one having a hammer only mode totally makes sense for just needing to notch away a small bit of plaster or a part of a brick if you're chasing walls, or stuff like that. I have a much larger SDS max drill for the heavy chiseling work but I don't want to bring that everywhere, thankfully by 18V metabo KH 24 has it but still, feels like cutting costs on the features so people need two tools.

@@robertrada4783 Almost makes you ask what the point of having or even making this slightly smaller tool if you miss out on such an important feature for a lot of people, at least with some of the significantly smaller 12/18v SDSes that are kilos lighter than the chiseling ones, there's a bit of a better excuse.

  • @BoltahDownunder

Virtually no power tool batteries actually disconnect when they’re low. Ryobi does, maybe Ridgid/AEG too. For everyone else, the battery signals to the tool “low voltage, stop drilling please!” The adapters almost all bypass that and will let you keep using the tool until the battery voltage is so low that it can’t operate anymore. Which is usually low enough to damage the batteries.
