I had a friend who was a member of GMA (Gold Miners Association) and he wanted to make money gold mining and one place he knew about was there in Georgia, he brought home a couple of buckets that he tried to find gold but unfortunately he had gotten ill and he did find a little but when I was cleaning the house after he passed away I couldn’t find them. I believe his son had taken them. That was the one thing that got me into Gold mining, I have watched gold mining shows ever since he introduced it to me. I also like watching shows about finding gems and opal. I do miss seeing you on Gold Rush and on Lost Mines.

I've been systematically mining here in Carrollton Georgia for years now. I have found a few tons, I'm trying to get it processed but it's taking forever. Hopefully soon I can get a good system.

Dave is a great a guy, or at least it seems that way from t.v. I don't know the guy, but he does seem like a good caring guy from all the shows he's been on. Good luck to you sir! I hope you get rich out there!

I live in Indiana. For fun, I read up on gold panning and learning how to read a creek and make educated guess as where to pan. I did not become an expert, but I got to where I could find gold. It is hard work. Holding a gold pan is hard on your hands and panning all day was hard on my back and knees. I decided it wan not that much fun. I have a glass vile of gold in water that I panned. I never got rich. I never had any equipment other than a pan, a few sifting screens and a bucket. Good luck to all who go looking!

The discovery of gold in Dahlonega led to the removal of the native Cherokee . The start of the trail of tears is relatively near . Many of the rivers in this area are still polluted with mercury . Don't eat the fish !!!
