@RJ Dominguez That's your opinion, I have a similar character to my series, he's also a coward like David, he's the main character's best friend. He also has full eyes, my problem with David is that looks more like a background character with these eyes of his, and unlike David, there's more to my main character's best friend other than being cowardly, he is really, really, really intelligent he has all sorts of devices from screen phones to tablets to drones to Apple watches to airpods to even Google contact lenses (Like Google Glasses, except as contacts) not only that but he's a video game nerd and knows all secrets and know how to hack games without even getting caught. But most importantly he's extremely intelligent built all sorts of gadgets, from trackers to Rocket Boots to VR sets helmets, heck he is even able to improve his robot toys and make them real.

@@Nameless82284 I can really understand why people don't like David. However, his only trait, which is cowardice is actually what makes him special. The fact that he almost has no skill at all allows him to be a relatable character by being an ordinary guy dragged into extraordinary situations. For me, protagonists does not always have to be powerful, smart, or brave. All they need is that connection to the viewers to make them be great characters, whether it is through personality or relatableness.

Apart being relatable, he is shown as having qualities that makes his cowardice up: he is kind, sensitive and despite his fears and doubts, he is there for helping his friends when they need him. Thats why Hilda and Frida likes David. It's also interesting how in a group consisted of two girls and a boy the boy is the coward one- and thats fine. They show us that that just because you are a guy it doesn't mean that you HAVE to be strong and anything like that. You can be afraid and thats fine. I would like if in some point David had to face his fears for the sake of his friends, showing that he is capable of being brave when thats is really needed (sorry about my english, I'm not a native speaker)

Interestingly enough...given the first Hilda graphic novel came out in 2010, Hilda as a whole is older than Gravity Falls by a few years.
