David Haye was nicknamed The Haymaker for a reason, and those wild looping swings of his would not have bothered the elusive Fury too much if they had fought. In this fight the referee was not wrong to call it a knockdown, because Fury had fallen onto the ropes. If they had been in the middle of the ring he'd have been on the floor. After the 8 count, the ref was also right to take his time and check that Fury was able to continue. It can't be proved that he was allowing Fury to be saved by the bell, but even that would have been justified because it added 3 very exciting and fascinating rounds to a fight that had been pretty close up to round 8, and it did not affect the final decision. In rounds 10,11, and 12, Fury again showed his great powers of recovery against a relentless adversary that would not be denied victory, but the knockdown still assured Usyk of his win, instead of what might have otherwise been a draw. Ultimately, Usyk got all the belts, Fury got to show what he's made of, and we got 12 great rounds of masterful boxing. What could be fairer than that?

I’m not in the ref’s head, so I don’t know what he was thinking, but it certainly has a bad look to it. Calling a knockdown because the ropes held him up. Why not call it the first or 2nd time the ropes hold him up? Why wait until the 5th or 6th time to call it? Why wait specifically until the moment where Fury trapped himself in the corner and Usyk was lining up the kill shot? Either call it right away when it happens, or let Usyk finish him. Also when Fury is bouncing around the ring like a pinball and Usyk is chasing him. Why get in Usyk’s way on multiple occasions? To such an extent that Usyk has to take his attention off Fury to move the ref out of his way? I have no idea. Maybe the ref was doing what he thought was best in calling it like that. But it does look like he was trying to save Fury. First from a knockdown, and when that became impossible, from a knockout. Not to mention the extremely slow count and giving Fury time to recuperate after the count before helping him over to his corner. Can’t help but think that if the situation was reversed and Usyk was being bounced up and down the ring, the fight would have been stopped.

well, he was leaning on the ropes after the first shot, then he was out on his feet in the middle of the ring and slumpin side to side. If it was any other fighter, the match would be stopped. Tyson always gets the most favorable treatment (Wilder 1 - in reality KO), Wallin (TKO on cuts), this one looong count and should have been stopped before that.
@boxtradums0073
23 күн бұрын
Nope if you are held up by the ropes it’s a knockdown. Standing 8 counts dont exist in pro boxing. If the ref was going to call a knockdown because the ropes held Fury up it should have been done the first or second time out of the 4 that the ropes held Fury up.

you remind me of one of the hodge twins" keith". same mannerisms. ☝
Marc Nelson just needed to let Usyk get off that last left and the fight was over because Tyson was leaning over already. Not just a shorter guy but Fury got terrible defense on his right side almost like he has bad vision in his right eye or something.
the wtf is that part was reacting to the ref stopping fury getting ko'ed i guess
I was also very pissed of that usyks moment to finish of fury in the 9th was out of order the ref was definitely team fury

i had the same reaction lol
What the eff was that...!!!! this is the worst refereeing. That's bs!!!!!!

Hahahahahaha !!!!
😂😂😂😂

Haye was fully in the moment where even his bobbing and weaving boxing muscle memory were activated, right until his rat smelling sketchy ref pulled him back to boxing corruption reality.

Hahaha WTF IS THATTT
Still don't get how the ref made a bad call tyson stopped himself going down by leaning on the ropes the rule is stop the fight for a standing 8 count it was a long count but thats always been up to the refs discretion how fast or slow too count i thought why hasn't the ref stopped it hes already out on the ropes

It was the part where he was blocking usyk from throwing then grabbing his hands, then when he carried fury to his corner Also when the ref was complimenting fury whilst he was in his corner earlier in the fight, etc

well, he was leaning on the ropes after the first shot, then he was out on his feet in the middle of the ring and slumpin side to side. If it was any other fighter, the match would be stopped. Tyson always gets the most favorable treatment (Wilder 1 - in reality KO), Wallin (TKO on cuts), this one looong count and should have been stopped before that.

Nope if you are held up by the ropes it’s a knockdown. Standing 8 counts dont exist in pro boxing. If the ref was going to call a knockdown because the ropes held Fury up it should have been done the first or second time out of the 4 that the ropes held Fury up.
The list of fighters fury has avoided is mind boggling, bellew, haye, Parker, zhang, A.j. and usyk until the Saudi 🇸🇦 mega millions rolled in... plus he never gave 40 year old vlad a rematch.... He built his rep on wilder who is a one trick pony with incredibly limited boxing abilities ... fury was a bluffer and a conman .. usyk 6 inches smaller and 40 lbs lighter beats him in to last year 😂 happy new year 🎉 😂😂😂

Tyson Fury is a bit of a split personality. Half is quite affable and likable even clownish. The other half is a bully, plain and simple. David Haye instinctively reacted to a bully being whipped.

Still clinging to those false narratives. I predicted Fury would quit on his stool around the tenth round. If it hadn't been for the bent ref giving him a 20 second count that's exactly what would of happened.

I want usyk’s lineage tested. Something tells me he isn’t born from his mother
Its a disgrace when when your own countrymen and fellow boxers cant get behind there own fighters, the fact there all glad fury lost is ridiculous, thats why there country has gone to shit 4:06
