I think liking naked pics of girls or watching porn is actually worse than just seeing a person’s face that’s interested in you. Because the way I see it, you want to see how attractive that person is as purely an ego boost to yourself. I think what Ethan is thinking and trying to say with “we’re married” is that he thinks their relationship is beyond things like attraction and looks. I think he means that he views Hila as more than a lover and like a life partner. Even in a non-married relationship it would be okay to look. My guess is that she feels that by just looking he's gonna get an incentive to go farther. Idk, feeld weird she doesn't want him looking yet she acts fine with all the Belle Delphine stuff. Though the difference there is that Belle wouldn't be all over him so I guess that makes Hila feel safe. But given hid husband's drooling over Belle the same could happen with another.

Yeah I was thinking the same, I'm genuinely shocked that everyone from the podcast disagrees with Ethan because I think the same way. Hila asked what good does it do, the only good it does is scratches your curiosity and nothing more or less. I'd be offended if my wife would even ask me or tell me it's wrong because that would be questioning if I'm being faithful to them.

"an attractive girl is like opening a picture of beatle juice, it's the same shit compared to you" I really felt this, I have big insecurities and my boyfriend has more or less said this to me, not that super models don't exist, but that I'm uniquely me and my beauty comes from both physical and who I am. You can't expect your boyfriend or partner to not be curious or look at other people and find them attractive, it'll happen, I think that's unrealistic to expect it not to. I think having respect for your partner and communicating and knowing what you have to offer and in what ways you're amazing is more important than if they're occasionally thinking someone is attractive.

I've never heard the term "window shopping," before but it's going to stick with me. This was a really good segment. I'll always be faithful, but this was a good reminder off how important it is.

I saw it more as “still got it.” Like it goes without saying, hopefully, that the person you’re in a relationship with finds you attractive. When a stranger finds you attractive, it feels a little different since there’s no doubt in your mind they’re being honest since they don’t know you. It’s a different kind of ego boost, like when your parents call you attractive VS a stranger at a bar. Then again, I’m only 20, have only been in 1 long term relationship and a toxic one at that, so I may be missing the experience of having your partner validate you. But I never thought it was “could I get someone more attractive” and more “this is how people really see me.”

I appreciate Ethans honesty here. Yeah it wasn’t handled in the best way, but he wasn’t being shady. He didn’t lie or gloss over it. He owned that he looked at her profile and found her pretty. Honestly I do not think there’s anything wrong with innocent curiosity. Looking at someone’s profile, especially when you do not message the person after, is not cheating or even a gateway to it. And Hila, like most women, needs to learn to be less entitled sometimes. Looking and being able to appreciate when another is objectively attractive doesn’t make them less faithful, quite the contrary. Denying the beauty of a stranger proves that you are just self-conscious about the temptation whereas admitting that a stranger is beautiful while simultaneously remaining loyal is the real test.

There’s no clear right answer Ethan is speaking from an existential perspective, saying that just because he sees a hot girl who wants him, he’s in charge of his own decisions and isn’t going to do anything. From Hila’s perspective, she’s feeling insecure that her partner would check out attractive girls with no intention of cheating on them, because the possibility of him doing it exists. Both are valid points and make sense.

Yeah this is my view. In the case of the video, I would 100% side with Ethan. Not because I think Hila is wrong, but that she's being so dismissive of what he's saying (and surely in a trusting relationship you should believe your partner when they say it's curiosity for curiosity's sake!). Her feelings about it are completely justifiable, but it's patronising and rude to assert that Ethan isn't capable of distinguishing ill intent from innocent curiosity, that he isn't capable of being curious without also having thoughts of being unfaithful.

In other words, Hila is being possessive and insecure and irrationally untrusting of their relationship when there is clearly no reason no motive to think Ethan would betray her for some random hussy. She is not confident in her own value as a woman and the authenticity of the relationship they have built together and doubts his honesty and the sincerity and devotion of his love for her, and is scared of even the most remote of possibilities that comes with the fact that Ethan is an independent thinking human being who has free choice and free thought and does not necessarily have to pick Hila. She should respect that he DID pick Hila, and believe he did so for a reason, and did so because it is his choice and it is how he likes it. It's an inner problem with her, not a problem with Ethan's mundane ordinary behavior of casually wanting to see who's talking to him. Hila thinks so lowly of Ethan to suspect that he would go down a dark stupid path that would betray everything he's ever said or ever done thus far in investing in their partnership to start over with some high risk fling with a completely unknown person. Hila is showing disrespect and lack of belief in Ethan and his ability to stay true to his principles.

Is this going to happen, is that going to happen, I don't want this to happen. She probably sees hot girls and is a bit insecure because she hears other stories of guys cheating. A culture of fear. It makes her think it could happen to her, which I guess it could, but she sees that aspect of the relationship as a statistic rather than something personal. My name doesn't matter exactly. Unfortunately, it is so normal among men that many don’t consider it an issue until it’s too late.

I think it speaks volumes about the trusting nature of their relationship that these two can have such an honest convo about this. The important part is not the difference in opinion, but the fact that Both were mature about it. Hila didn’t take seize on this as a chance to accuse or shame Ethan, and although he dragged this out for the content, Ethan clearly respects Hila’s boundaries over his own curiosity. I think bachelor’s get where Ethan’s initial opinion comes from. If Ethan very rarely gets that kind of attention as an influencer, younger Ethan probably couldn’t even conceive of being so boldly approached by a woman. That’s just not an interaction that happens for the bulk of the male population, so Ethan would probably view it as a novelty.

Honestly, this kind of thing can create so many insecurities. We live in a society where everyone gets compared to others and checking to see if she's attractive or not would make me insecure.

Okay, hear me out. When you are in a relationship with someone, other people who are attractive don't stop being attractive, BUT you make a choice. You cannot control your mind, but you chose how to act. As a man in a happy relationship, you chose not to flirt with others. As a woman in a happy relationship, you chose not to look at another guy. As a person in a happy relationship, you chose not to check other people's instagram after they expressed an interest in you.

I will never cheat but i would go to war with my girlfriend if she got mad at me for looking up who sent me a message. Ofcourse i will look up who sent me a message. You have no right to get mad at me and you should also not get insecure when i click on a link in a email that's complimenting me.

I don’t see how simply looking at someone’s ig constitutes being unfaithful. If someone finds you attractive and they’re attractive themselves, it can sometimes be nice to have that confidence boost, that attractive people find you attractive. It doesn’t mean you’re gonna start flirting with them and cheating on your partner.

Ethan isn't a conventionally attractive guy, which is something Hila can't relate to. Confidence boosts are worth their weight in gold for unattractive people

You don’t have to compare when looking at other people, it could be like “damn, this other attractive person is attracted to me, maybe I got somethin goin on here”. You can cherish what you got lucky with and never let it go, but if you get the boost and start acting more confident, it could benefit your relationship even more!

It doesn’t even have to have anything to do with boosting confidence. Ethan already has Hila who is pretty good looking herself. I view myself as attractive and I have a boyfriend, but I personally would still look just because I’m nosy af. I already look at people’s pages all the time for making stupid comments, or comments that I really like. Depending on my boredom I could even end up on someone’s best friend’s brother’s stepmom’s sister’s page on Instagram too 😂. Some people are just nosy/curious and bored.

@Kawi curiosity and asking questions serve to fulfill what we perceive as "holes" or "pits" in our understanding of our lives and the world around us. There is no such thing as simply wanting to know something for "the sake of knowing". In this context, I think Ethan bases how valid/good the compliment is on the person's looks. By showing interest (or "CuRioSIty) in what the person looks like, Ethan is showing that he cares enough to see how valid/notable the complement is. This is a problem to hila because she reasons that Ethan should only need her validation and no one else's; I find myself agreeing with her.

Satan Lucifer the fact that people have any other opinion on the matter is actually kinda revolting... why would you need someone else’s validation while your in a relationship. Your in the relationship in the first place to validate each other not seek attraction from other people just for the sake of having people think your attractive. It’s a really dumb and self centered way of thinking about relationships. Kinda ruins the point of being with someone in the first place 😂 “oh yea let me just check this girl out on Instagram to see how hot she is because she called me cute” the only point in doing that would be to entice unfaithful thoughts and or validate yourself in a way you feel your significant other can’t and both of those are unhealthy in a relationship
