One flaw about this camera, at least to me, is that the audio is exclusively tied to the panoramic channel. You cannot directly access the audio from the PTZ channel. When I asked B&H Photo about it because they handle Hikvision support if you bought it from them was, "According to Hikvision, The Tandemview camera only has audio on one of the views, because the device basically works as two separate cameras." They do not say this in their specs, manual, or product page. I just bought it a couple weeks ago, and I'm contemplating sending it back.

Hi! Can you use a different NVR and not HikVision NVR? I am not interested about PC software usage but about NVR usage and mobile usage. I see in this youtube video that the camera is transmitting 2 separate video streams which means for a NVR that he receive video streams from 2 different IPs? I am not interested in PIP recording but to record a video from a fixed location and the second stream from any location around camera.

@@HD2Youyeah, you 100% can use any other NVR, just search a tutorial on how to add a hikvision camera to a non-Hikvision NVR and that will tell you what to adjust in the camera settings. And no, it uses the same IP for both streams but different channels. When adding the camera you'll use the onvif protocol that uses RTSP for video. Google "hikvision rtsp url" and you'll see you input camera channel, channel 1 is bullet, channel 2 is ptz

@merluzo8269 Having to render the second stream video just to get the audio takes up significant extra usage (even at low resolutions / substreams, I did testing) on your GPU......... That costs you both money in unneeded electricity ($$$) and ties up resources for other applications. I finally did find a way around that, but it's really obscure and 99% of people won't figure it out. You have to put the parameter allowed_media_types=audio into the FFmpgeg options field of the media source in OBS.

@merluzo8269 When using OBS, you also have to render the video stream which is a waste of CPU/GPU, although I finally did figure out an obscure way to get around that. Also, in the latest firmware V5.8.0_240327_S3000565522 also addressed this, so you don't need to do that workaround either.

Hikvision thankfully addressed this in the latest firmware V5.8.0_240327_S3000565522, you can now access audio directly from the PTZ channel.
