    With this two videos about Metabo and Hikoki you preety much covered everything good job! 👍 When you're reviewing plunge saws one important thing is missing in my opinion. When you clamp the track, make a cut at 90° all the way, and then without moving the track, cut again but with 45° and only half way. If two cut lines meet we're home, if not it's going to couse problems.

    The issue with the AC adapter is probably to do with something like using the motor as a generator to brake. This works with a battery because the battery can absorb the power, but you can't shove the pixies back in the wall. Just my guess.

    awesome, another track saw review, love them! And of course can't wait for the big showdown between all of them :) that metabo 5.5ah pack uses 3ah cells so it is basically a 6ah pack, they just limit it to 5.5ah so it doesn't exceed 99Wh for air shipping. And since it uses 3Ah cells it is indeed more powerful then other ones :)

  • @ron1martens

    @ron1martens

    @riba2233 So the 5.5 an use 3ah cells. What does the 8 ah and 10 ah use? I read someone stated the 10ah runs at 10 whilst the 8 runs at 30 and the 5.5 runs at 35 whether that is watt hour I'm not sure. I cannot remember the exact wording. I understand its how the battery communicates with the machine which determines the output of power running on the machine. Drawing more current.

    @@ron1martens 8ah uses samsung 40t 4ah cells, and 10ah uses 5ah Samsung 50s cells. 3ah cells are very powerful, around 40-50amps, 4ah have decent power, 30-35amps, and 5ah ones are relatively weak at 20-25 amps.

    Nicely done to show Metabo comparison with Milwaukee earlier, and now say Hikoki is the same as Metabo, only has more power! This way you said what you thought earlier about Hikoki and they can shove their criticism policies up their a.. :)

  • @cassiya100

    I'm heavily invested in both platforms cause at the time the Hikoki wasn't available so I went for the Metabo and got loads of 5.5ah batteries second hand. I find that the multivolts batteries 2.5ah are shit.. at least 10+ have been returned because of faulty BMS boards on them,I had not yet had one CAS gone wrong. Also my Hikoki 36v mitre saw is way too heavy to be loading in/out the van on a daily basis so now I'd sell it and go for the new brushless 216 Metabo almost half the weight. Great informative video subscribed.

    I checked my Table saw, 7.25 inch circular and miter saw. All 36v tools and all have a brake. The brake works with both the battery and the AC converter. Wonder why this saw isn't braking with the AC converter. I'm in the NA market, so Metabo HPT for me.

  • @onikwa

    Probably because it's a German metabo saw that was never initially designed to brake using the AC adapter. And for the record, the 36v angle grinders also don't brake using the adapter. There's even a warning about it in the manual.

    The brake function, which provides a quick reverse current, seems to be easily achievable for DC-powered tools. However, it might be too complex and costly to make it in an AC-DC converter, just my guess. Interestingly, some Festool 220V tools have the brake function, while their 110V versions do not. During a Festool USA live, it was mentioned that the development of the brake function faced difficulties and was challenging to resolve without changing the tool's profile.

    Google off course had it wrong. It is called "FÜHRUNGSSCHIENE" not "Führungssystem" ! A " Führungssystem" in German would be considered more of a mechanism that works, at least partly, on itself or a whole system of several guide rails, attachments, aso... In short, saw plus guide rail = a cutting system, guide rail = just a guide rail. I would opt for the Hikoi. One more thing, to annoy the c... out of you 😂, you slide your hand down on the handle of a Metabo drill, than you push with the downwards pointing palm of your hand the red button on the back of the tool and pull, with the other hand the battery off!

    Festool has FS so they copied that , but Metabo use Mafell tracks . Bosch has different , on track/off track indicator , copied blade change system from Festool , but uses Mafell tracks . Mafell has best blade change system , blade cover tilts down , i dont think anyone else has that , no need of a silly hole on side , from where half of saw dust escapes .
