Awesome review mate, blew me away to be honest the power of it & I didn’t anticipate that. The blade cut well & I suppose experimenting with a Diablo might make it a super Saw, top stuff 🎥🔨👍

Thank you for your video and review, I thought long about buying the Hikoki as you said that in your case it came without the parallel guide and dust port extractor. I did some research and in the descriptions from Hikoki or the vendor I was not able to determine if these parts should be part of the delivery. But I did order it and mine came with the parallel guide and the dust port. I’m impressed with the build quality and performance and think it is one of the best 165 mm compact circular saws on the market.

Had mine a couple of weeks and it's a fine saw, to be fair I'm a plasterer so don't need/use it in the way a carpenter does but so far I'm happy! All my Hitachi/Hikoki stuff has been superb, still have batteries that are 7 years old and get used for long stints boarding with no problems at all. Big advantage for me is no one else on site uses the brand so my stuff doesn't go walkies...

You bought the bare/naked unit - tool only.... there’s a it version, comes with charger, two batteries, guide rail and port. It also comes with a replacement lever for the blade guard, as the extractor port interferes with the stock lever. Silent mode prolongs battery life when cutting through materials that don’t need full power and battery drain. Also it’s aimed for first fix work outdoors with structural softwood, so in all honesty dust extraction is pretty pointless and just becomes a painful inconvenience .

Thanks for the comment 👍 I would still argue that some things should be coming as standard - like the edge guide and the dust port. The rest I understand that have to come under the label as "extras". Its just value for money that customers deserve in my opinion. Although that is my thought process and most of my tools are budget or super budget 😅 Never thought about the "energy saving" aspect for the silent mode that's a good point. I have to test how much more time it actually extends the battery life. I find that circular saws in general got a poor dust extraction system but it doesn't mean that they have to be used only outdoors. Its a tool that's designed to be flexible and useful in many situations so it should work to a good standard in all environments - outdoors and workshop alike.

@@CasualDIY The question is do you want to pay more for the extras as nothing comes free. Or to put it differently would you like to pay the same price as it is in its body only option, get extras but at the expense of lower overall build quality of the body as the cost of the extras would have to be saved somewhere. I just bought myself a twin brother of your unit - C6MEY. The difference is that C6MEY is grid powered (230v). Not sure about battery powered unit but C6MEY can be bought as body only in a same manner as yours without dust extraction adapter nor the guide rail or C6MEY WBS which comes with both in the box (that is the one I got). The main reason I went for C6MEY is the function that both of those have and it is the anti-kickback function, which I believe is worth mentioning. When saw detects sudden drop-off in rotational speed with trigger depressed it will automatically apply electric break to prevent saw kicking back at the operator. As this will be my first circular saw I thought that the function will be worth to have even tough I will be extremely casual user of the saw (I need it for few small projects around the house). Even tough I have bought it mainly for a anti-kickback function I am getting "free of charge" ;), brushless motor, nice low weight (2.7kg for 165mm C6MEY), good power and general quality that hopefully with last me a long time (have very good prior experience with green Hitachi power tools). Is it easy to make a straight cuts with it? Did you have any kickback events with it? Do you use it or Parkside more often? The Hikoki anti-kickback system in action: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWVsqLahhaq1ZLA.html Another interesting video about anti-kickback system in development (however Hikoki has something like this already): kzread.info/dash/bejne/gZiLmdihiby5lLA.html

@@sebna I guess if you aren't going to use those things you'd be better off saving the money and get the bare unit. Mine came like that and that's cool, I have batteries and charger already. If I need the rest I can add it later...

Thanks mate. Yes I was quite surprised how powerful it was and that was with the standard supplied blade as well. Impressed, shame the basic pack doesn't even cone with an edge guide, by I guess you can have everything.
