What distances could you ID deer with this model? And what optical magnification could you use it up to on your day scope? Hoping it might work on an ATACR 5-25?

G'day mate, you could I'd a deer from around the 200m mark, you need a minimum zoom of 6 for a decent image

That's a good image for a clip on I use the HIK Stella pro SQ50, what's the calibre?

im curious as why would someone use this as a clip on? It doesnt give the scope any zoom or does it? The scope is basically just zoomed in on a digital screen? or am i missing something.

@BrnTanHides with Thermal you don't really use the zoom as the image quality will drop. Also, with Thermal, you're in the dark with no light. You can walk right up to animals if you want, so zoom isn't necessary

Yeah I understand all that.I just dont understand why a person would clip it to their scope if the thermal scope has its own recital? The only positive to that would be not needing to take off the optical scope and then having to resight it once you put it back on after using the thermal scope? I use thermal imagers, but never a thermal scope before. Just trying to learn@@WAFeralAnimalService

@BrnTanHides all good mate everyone thinks differently. The reason why I would choose a clip-on is because of the different ways you could use it. Clipped on for shooting on multiple guns, use as a hand-held Monocular. Mount to a vehicle
