Armenian Geographic organized two-day hiking trip to Mount Khustup. Khustup is considered to be a sacred mountain. It is not without reason that people call it a hermit. According to some researches on the origin of the name of the mountain the root of the name khutu comes from Hurrian language and means “prayer”. Since ancient times the mountain has been a place of prayers and pilgrimage.
Armenian Geographic-ը կազմակերպել էր դեպի Խուստուփ լեռը։ Խուստուփը համարվում է սուրբ լեռ: Իզուր չէ ժողովուրդը նրան տվել ճգնավոր անունը: Լեռան անվան ստուգաբանություններից մեկի համաձայն՝ նրա հիմքում ընկած է խուռիերեն խութու արմատը, որը նշանակում է աղոթք: Դեռ հին ժամանակներից լեռը եղել է աղոթատեղի և ուխտագնացության վայր:
