I was curious about the Hefner Overlook, so I looked it up. Apparently Howard Hughes owned a bunch of that land above the Hollywood Sign and was going to build a home for him and Ginger Rogers on it. Their relationship ended and the land ended up in the hands of some real estate developers in the early 2000's. There was public outcry to save it from being turned into whatever they had planned, and a bunch of people raised 12.5 mil to get the land and turn it over to the Hollywood Sign Trust. Hefner donated the final 1 mil to get it done (Aileen Getty also donated a lot).

I say, do it while you can❤ don't wait till it's too late. 👍👍👍👍👍 I have to say I think it's kind of selfish to take your dog up there, people don't do that to your dog! That dog looked really scared and worried.

I really enjoyed this. I’d love to be able to do this one day. A drunk left my partner and I for dead a few years back. Flipped us and rolled our RA and I’ve been working my way back to what I was. I hope to be able to get up here especially living so close to this place. I truly appreciate you showing us this brother. Some of us live vicariously 👊🏾🤘🏾 the Batman cave when I was a kid in 6th grade we went to camp Hollywood (which I believe is a girls camp the rest of the time) and hiked to the caves. Went through there and found many blank round casings from when they filmed… as an old man now in his mid 40s I wish I still had those damn casings 😑😩

i grew up in California in 1974 i was 6 years old . my dad drove me , my brother and mom up to the old Hollywood sign my mom and brother stayed in the car .back then there was no fence surrounding it, and no cameras like nowadays and no one cared if you were there. me and my dad walked down to the sign you could tell it was getting old and falling apart and rusting there was spray-paint graffiti on the backside of all the letters. there was trash and ,fire pits .people used to go to the old sign and have parties .i climbed up the old metal polls that held the letter H and pounded on it with my hand it was made out of metal siding that you put on roofs then my dad and me walked around the entire Hollywood sign pounding on all the letters .. that's something i will remember all my life visiting the old Hollywood sign. my dad used to tell us kids growing up he used to visit the old Hollywood sign allot when he was a teenager

You really showed so much Adam!! I enjoyed it!😀💖
Cool video Adam! Love all the hiking spots insights plus bonus batcave shots.
Adam, thank you for taking me along with y'all! Really enjoyed your awesome video! I don't like heights! That's cool how close y'all were from the Hollywood sign. Love the batcave! Looking forward to your next vlog.
Nice vid, you defiantly got your steps in!! 🙂 Love the original Batman show. 🦇
didn't thought to see thirdphasemoon lol awesome video
Unfortunately my fear of heights would never let me do that hike but I appreciate you filming it and doing it! 👟

One of your most enjoyable shows to date thank you
Was out there last summer, and I can assure you, those fences stopped no one from venturing into the cave if they wanted to go in. The fences were fully up, but easily bypassed.
Great video! Thanks for taking us on a hike in an area we wouldn't have known about. Randy was a good companion for the journey.
Awsome video, Adam!! Some of the views are surreal !! The views are like that in the mountains. Everything, amazing!!
Beautiful view of the backside of the sign…super iconic and haunted!!!!!
I've never done this hike, and it's too late in my life now to do it. After knee surgery hiking and skating days are over for me. But I really enjoyed watching your hike! I say, do it while you can❤ don't wait till it's too late. 👍👍👍👍👍 I have to say I think it's kind of selfish to take your dog up there, people don't do that to your dog! That dog looked really scared and worried.
Always surprises me how few people are there. I've been to LA a few times and there's so many people but when I went to the overlook spots and touristy areas, there's very few people there, sometimes there's no one. Seems so odd to me. Anyway, great video!

The other hikers in the video are probably locals getting some exercise. Lol!
Adam, The Movie, Rock of Ages, had a great Scene with the Hollywood Sign, in it. I love that Movie❤ Also, the Greek Theater is right next to Griffith Observatory. It's a Fantastic Venue for Concerts ❤ Now I, want a Tommy's Burger & a Thick Shake or Hot Fudge Cake from Bob's Big Boy! Blessings & Love to ALL from N.E. Oklahoma, Piper & Singer a.k.a My Kitty ❤
Awesome can’t wait to watch😮😊

@@josephdesilva9400 yeah brother! That was some good times for sure 🤘🏾. I remember getting to the boys cabins was like going to Mount Everest but the girls cabins was simply walk up the stairs by the pool (which was empty when I was there 😂🤭) haha. Enjoy your day my bro 😁
Love your videos this one was so amazing thank you
Loved this! Great job
Adam the spot on the camera is still there

FANTASTIC video with Wonderful history info. New Fan!!!!
This was epic😎 you definitely got your steps in💪🏼
Hi from England. One day I'll walk up to the Hollywood sign but I'll need oxygen and an ambulance behind me if it's that steep hahah.😂 Good vid keep up the good work Adam.
Planned on hiking to the Wisdom Tree over a month ago but something came up. Thank you for showing what it will be like! I did a couple of horseback tours around there - beautiful sights but looked like there were way better ones from this hike 🤩
Thanks guys for a great vlog. Didn't realize it was such a rugged hike up there.
My fear of heights was in FULL EFFECT this entire vlog. Edge of my seat.

My wife and I hiked up to the sign in 2019 on our honeymoon ……… the view is breathtaking
i was up by the helicopter pad (at least 45 yrs ago) & a copter was landing then too ...the noise flushed a heard of deer... about 15 of them with babies too.... never seen more than 3 or 4 b4 so I was quite impressed id love to see a census of all the animals who call Griffith Park home... anyway thanks for the tour !
Love these longer videos. Great job.
I loved this video. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤
Such a good video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for showing this. It feels as though I went with you on the trip.
Amazing views! I wouldn't personally be happy about going up that rocky path to the top as I would be paranoid about falling off or finding snakes! So glad I can see it in your vlog! ;)

I'm used to snakes so that wouldn't bother me or the cliff thing. I think once you're use to it, you are still looking at your surroundings, you just freak out less.😊
Born and raised in LA and I didn't know about most of this. Great video, Adam. Now, I have something else to check out when I come back after visiting friends and family. ;)
Awesome video great that you went I could never do it be safe enjoying all your videos
Wow, amazing video, it will be my reference when I get there hopefully by the end of the year. Thanks for sharing.
This is a Fun one. To get to see Many Points from one area is cool. Thank You, Adam !
That’s so cool thank you for sharing
Peg Entwistle jumped of the H back in 1932 and they still see her ghost during fog! There was a episode of paranormal witness where teens back in 1988 hiked up and encountered her ghost (spooky).
amazing views and amazing commentary. Thanks again Adam.
cool as always keep up the great videos Adam
i grew up in California in 1974 i was 6 years old . my dad drove me , my brother and mom up to the old Hollywood sign my mom and brother stayed in the car .back then there was no fence surrounding it, and no cameras like nowadays and no one cared if you were there. me and my dad walked down to the sign you could tell it was getting old and falling apart and rusting there was spray-paint graffiti on the backside of all the letters. there was trash and ,fire pits .people used to go to the old sign and have parties .i climbed up the old metal polls that held the letter H and pounded on it with my hand it was made out of metal siding that you put on roofs then my dad and me walked around the entire Hollywood sign pounding on all the letters .. that's something i will remember all my life visiting the old Hollywood sign. my dad used to tell us kids growing up he used to visit the old Hollywood sign allot when he was a teenager
Thank you. I could see where my friend is buried in Forest Lawn. I haven't been back to LA in almost 40 years
Great video! Love the Bronson Caves. The Wisdom tree looks like it's on top of Waltons Mountain!
That walk never gets old love the video
That's a sweet wide window view from your hotel!
I loved this! Thanks!!
I had so much fun, thank you for taking me with, great vlog!
where are the houses on poles hanging off cliffs. I was there in the mid seventy's. We drove most the way back then. I did not jump fence, could not afford to have troubles. but had to do it while i was in Calif- loved my trip. Great memories.
HOLLY WOO 1 love! The next time I go to L.A., I am going to the Wisdom Tree! Thank You for reminding me Adam!
I like Adam’s tuberculosis cap. Oh wait, that’s Tampa Bay. Never mind.
Great video as always! That is so cool! I have always liked that house and now I can check out their KZread. Pretty awesome!
My best friend and myself on our first trip to Hollywood walked from the guitar center on sunset all the way to the sign. Up the terrain and under the sign. It’s amazing to be up nestled in the letters.
