Hiking to a Secret Cave on the Pennine Way | Peak District Walk

Join me for an invigorating hike to a hidden cave along the Pennine Way in the Peak District. Then I head North towards Featherbed Moss to reach a trig point and descend over by Alphin Pike into Greenfield, with wonderful views over Dove Stone Reservoir.

Hi Mary! I am a relatively new subscriber here. I am from the US, but found your videos while planning my thru hike of the West Highland Way. I love your videos, and the Minimalist ones especially have inspired me (I am currently doing the Minimalist challenge after watching your videos about it!). You asked if people would be interested in the new challenge you're doing and yes! I love the self-improvement aspect of your channel so I would say go for it!

Crackin' walk Mary. I used to do the same area but in the opposite direction - up Chew and over the Moss to Laddow Rocks then down into Crowden (breakfast in the Youth Hostel as was) before heading west for Arnfield Brook and turning north to reach Indian's Head. A nice pint in the Clarence to finish the day. Brilliant. Now too old and cream crackered. Last time up Chew I couldn't even manage a stroll round Dovestones Res which, in my day, was a lovely little walk around Binn Green.

I've bivvied in laddow rocks cave (vid on my channel 😉) you could fit 2 people comfortably, you will have wildlife for company though, so pack your food away properly. There are also birds of prey that nest high above on the rocks, they had chicks when I stayed there and they kept me awake most of the night lol. Nice relaxing video by the way 👍🏻👍🏻

I've been up Crowden and hit all the three Trigs (not in one hike) but the Featherbed Moss was certainly a boggy bit of Crowden. Peat bog wise. The other side of the Horseshoe up at Westend Moss and White Low are just mad. Exceptionally wet. Are you on a Trig Point Challenge Mary? Great vlog. Thanks for sharing. There is so much water up there you could have filtered on the way. I'd be interested in the 75 hard that's for sure.

It looks like somebody has built up a wall to form the outside edge of the cave there. This is a long shot, but do you know how long that wall has been there and who built it? I expect it might be recent, but if not, it would be cool to know how historic it is -- how far back it goes.
