Hiking through Point Plomer, Bream/Drummer Rock Fishing Australia. Hamilton's Hobbys

After taking small bits of advice from experienced fisherman and combining them all together I've managed to get better with time at catching Drummer , these fish fight extremely hard for their size and it's safe to say im "hooked" on the adventure , just like these fish are on my line! Hope you all enjoy the video .

Well done, man!! Next time soak those pellets in water for a couple of hours before you arrive at your spot. You add water liberally to them and check on them after 20 minutes. What you want is a coarse sand like (motar like) consistency so that at your spot you can roll cricket ball sized balls in your hand and throw them into the wash where you are going to fish. This is called ground baiting and preps the area that you will fish. Two to three balls when you arrive then one golf ball sized ball every 10 minutes. Your results will be better and you will entice the bigger pigs in - 50 cm + brutes. Personal opinion - ditch the braid and run 25 lb Schneider all the way through. Set your drag tighter so that you can just pull line off your reel with your hand (with a lot of effort) and fight the pigs harder. On a big pig when it runs you lean back into it hard and try to get its head up. If it runs along the ledge face, use side pressure to turn it. Good luck!

Top_Ho! I've been to that very spot, where I saw a solitary young fur seal while I was fishing. Early Autumn. I only got tailor. The seal wouldn't show me his catch.

I'd hate to see this young fella try to handle double figure pigs they would have busted up in a second with that gear. Fish that size I put them back just too small.

Disregard my silly comments young fella I'm just an old rockhopper that is envious of your youth, I wish I was your age again. I've just become an old cranky shit that's finding it hard getting old. I'll have to rectify my fault and get out and join you young fella's. Forgive me making that comment.
