Hiking the White Mountains, Hut to Hut, Galehead River to Zealand Falls along the Appalachian Trail
We planned this hike a full year in advance to secure Hut space. Who would have thought we would be hiking in record breaking rainfall in the White Mountains National Forest, New Hampshire in the last week of August/first week of September. In all, we spent nine days hiking, and six days going Hut to Hut. This video (Part 1: Hut to Hut) includes the Galehead River Trail, Galehead Mountain, Galehead Hut, South Twin Mountain, Twinway Trail (also Appalachian Trial), Mount Guyot, Mount Zealand, Zealand Falls and the Hut, and the Zealand Falls Trail back down.

All of these provide meals as part of the stay. Some things cost extra and bedding is not luxury -- but we loved it!

Those mountains are so awesome. I think in general most of us tend to think of the West when we think about Big mountain views. But there are definitely some great views in the Northeast. The huts are a cool element as well. Looking forward to the next part.
