Connetquot River State Park Preserve is situated just about 50 miles away from Manhattan, within six Long Island Suffolk County localities of Bohemia, Central Islip, East Islip, Islip Terrace, Oakdale, and Ronkonkoma. This preserve offers visitors over 50 miles of nature trails for easy hiking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing through its 3,473-acre natural beauty land. Freshwater fly fishing on the Connetquot River is also offered here but only for the fishing permit holding visitors.
