Slioch was my first Munro, i was lucky with a calm clear day, its the views downwards to some lochs and lower mountains that are unbelievable. My 2nd was Ben Nevis which is like a walk in the park compared to Slioch, not done a 3rd.
Shame you never got the views James. I still have the pleasure of the mighty Slioch and hopefully when I do it I will get the views. 👍

I was gutted 😂 save it for a good day! Cheers, James
Walked Slioch in mid nineties in late October. Fantastic mountain. We were really fortunate to experience a broochen spectre so whole experience etched in my memory. Great video.

Amazing 😁 its a great mountain, Cheers, James
Nae joy, man! If it's any consolation I got a bogus forecast on Friday for Bidein a' Chabair (one of the more remote Corbetts). Met Office said sunshine all day and got clag instead.

That makes me feel a bit better 😂 weather has been a bit unpredictable recently!

That's a beautiful area of Scotland shaped by Vulcanism, Ice, Wind, Water and Time and all too often hidden by mist. How unjust, but thank you for another reminder of how lucky we are to have this on our doorstep. Great video.

The torridonian sandstone was laid down underwater, and the land has since risen. Volcanoes have nothing to do with the landscape, but it is my favourite as well.

Such a shame you missed the views. I bagged Slioch last year before heading into Fisherfield and the view from the top are certainly a 10/10. My favourite mountain I think. Keep up the great work James, your videos are awesome. Paul.

I absolutely loved this video! Hiking the Mighty Slioch in the Scottish Highlands looks like such an incredible experience. The scenery is just breathtaking and I love how you captured it all on camera. I'm so inspired to plan my own hike in the Scottish Highlands now. Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure with us!
What a gorgeous scenery my friend, these dramatic landscapes are phenomenal! 🔥🔥

The view I've had from pretty much most of the Munros I've done so far!!!
Slioch is a serious undertaking, particularly in winter. The classic view from the west side of Loch Maree takes some beating. I did it in December back in 1989 and the views were very similar to yours. We were in Torridon last year and walked up onto the high ground to the view point of the Beinn Eighe NNR., where there is also a great view of Slioch as well. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic area, wouldn’t go near it in winter like you say. Will be exploring Beinn Eighe soon, cheers, James
I would be fuming getting to the top and then.not being able to see the view 🤣🤣 but a usual you take it all-in your stride, I guess it's all part of the journey, well done getting back safely.x

Magnificent Munro that James... Great orienteering..I'd be pretty scared up there in the mist tbh..M ☘️

It was slightly daunting, but there was a path coming & going so that helps 😁 Cheers, James
Did Slioch back in early September and got the views so I can recommend you trekking back up there on a clear day for a revisit. It’s a stunner.

100%, it was the only mountain in Scotland that had a half decent forecast that day so knew it was going to be hit or miss with the views.. will definitely return 😁 Cheers
You've picked the wrong week for it ... This whole week looks really good.. You are slowly catching up on me , I've done 180. But heading out tomorrow for another two, and this hill I've not done , I want a perfect day for it .

bad luck with the weather but still a grand day. an excellent mountain for a bivvy if you can get the weather window - superb position for dawn and dusk. lovely vid.

Nice one James, shame the cloud didn't lift. I've done Slioch a couple of times and loved arriving in the corrie, another world for sure. If you get some clear skies next time the second top around the ridge is well worth a visit too. ATB.

Thanks Andy, the corrie is great for sure. Will definitely return for the views & take in the ridge 😁 Cheers, James
Great vid as usual pal 👍 I've got a long weekend coming up and planning an Teallach, fisherfield and slioch over 3 and a half days if the legs allow it. What music are you playing in your vids?

Very well done, 169 Munros sure is impressive and a tribute to your dedication and effort. Nicely made video as well. I’m on the other side of the scale, enjoyed about a dozen Munros, maybe walk the Cairngorms this coming summer. God bless.

Thank you very much again, James! Torridon is such a great place to hike except for the midges in the warm season. That was not YOUR Problem I guess😉. It looked like you werethe only person on Slioch that day? Very special experience though the poor weather - your footage looks great anyway…

This is a totally random question, but out of all these videos I've always been left wondering- where did you get those stunning pants? It seems like they've got abrasion resistance in all the right places compared to the usual ones you find (which just have it on the knees, for some reason, rather than shins or thigh area.)

@@ScottishMunroJourney I was just watching your video on Moruisg (I'm goin' up to Achnashellach soon to get that one in with the upcoming snow) and you mentioned Slioch, which made me come back here and remember this post- and the pants! Thanks for telling me- I'm definitely looking into getting the pair with the orange- they seem perfectly ideal as my last pair are quite torn up xD
Hi as always a great video. We love watching your Munro journey and certainly inspires us. My husband was wondering what weather app you use?

That’s some commitment to creating quality content, to ditch your camera and do some walkthrough shots, & head back to get your kit. Especially when you cross the wooden bridge a couple of minutes in.
