Hiking The Grace Coolidge Trail! Custer State Park! Beautiful Black Hills Of South Dakota!
Hey everybody! We went on a little hike and thought we'd take you along with us! The Grace Coolidge Trail is located in Custer State Park and is only around 6 miles roundtrip. It's a beautiful hike through forests, streams, and granite cliffs. There are 14 stream crossings, most of which have a plank to use to cross, but some do not. We started out on this hike when it was raining and we had to turn back due to rising water levels and we didn't have our water shoes. We went back a few weeks later and hiked it with ease, and decided not to even use the planks. It's way more fun walking through the water. There was even a big surprise on the trail in the form of wildlife! You won't want to miss the awesome photos John got of this magnificent animal. We were so close to the end of this trail, but due to the wildlife, we had to turn around before getting to the very end where Center Lake and Center Lake Campground is located. We really didn't mind turning around since we have hiked this trail before. Thanks so much for watching, and we hope you enjoy the video!

This was neat to see the contrast between the rainy day and then a beautiful sunny day. The bison photos were incredible. What a beautiful creature. Overall this looks like such a nice trail with lots of stream crossings which are probably nice in the summertime.

I usually do not start a hike in the rain. Way to brave the rain and make a return trip to finish the trail. Nicely done on capturing the beauty too. Cool to see the fish underwater. Nice to see the bison too. I would have kept my distance also. Looked like a great couple days on the trail. Well done. Have a great day.

Beautiful forest and trees! Too bad about the rain the first day- the trail sure did look muddy. Beautiful sunshine on your next attempt- seemed like the perfect day. Super cool to see a bison- wow, he was big! Awesome photos! I’ve usually only seen them out in a meadow or valley, like at Yellowstone, not in the trees. Powerful to look him in the eyes! Yea, he said the trail was his that day! 👌👍👍⭐️⭐️❤️

Thanks so much! We really love this trail. There's so much beauty everywhere you look. This trail always has water on and around it, but there are planks you can use on every crossing except for one. We just opted to plow on through the water. 😆 More fun that way. The bison was so awesome to see! Thanks again!

Beautiful hike with lots of pretty stream crossings. Love the underwater shots. Very cool to see a bison but too bad he was enjoying your trail too much. I had a similar thing happen with a herd of elk blocking my path recently.

Ah, more Black Hills... Awesome. None of my cameras are waterproof so I watch the forecast closely.. True hikers when the rain or high water does not stop you...
