Hiking Thailand. Kaeng Krachan National Park.

Kaeng Krachan National Park is one of the best places to spot wildlife in Thailand. There are some big animals that call this place home. Too many to list here, but chances are you can spot leopards, bears, elephants, tigers, tapirs.......like I said, too many to list.
I was more concerned with the hiking and made my way to Bang Krang Camp, which is the best spot to find yourself a hiking trail. The plan was a 12km round trip which would take me to Pran Buri Waterfall. Due to police check points and other circumstances out of my control, I started late and only had 4 hours to get there and back, so it was going to be a tight squeeze.
The park is stunning and as you'll see, the wildlife is super easy to spot. Definitely one of my favourite trips in Thailand so far.

Just after the rain there was definitely a great feel to the place. The soil was certainly wet as I can testify after sliding down it a few times on some of the steeper sections. Thanks so much for watching.

@@edgeofthemap4842 What city is this National Park in Thailand? Do you need a tour guide to go into this park? Is it safe?( like any tiger or lion to watch out for )?. I'm travelling there this February and thinking about visiting this place. Your response and advise will be appreciated. Thank you.

@@blasblasblas2094 Hi. The park is in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan districts. You can get guides but don't need them to enter the park. There is a long road running through the park and if you want to drive up it once you get past the campsite you would need an off road vehicle. I believe you can see leopards in the park quite regularly.

Kaeng Krachan is rich in wildlife but a bit less convenient for the visitors than Khao Yai. Phenoeng Thung has been closed to visitors for a long time now, I camped there once but it rained constantly so no views for me. They opened a loop trail from Ban Krang a few years ago, no idea if it’s still in use or not. Nice editing as always

Hey Karl. I really need to pick your brain about hiking out here. It's my favourite pass time, but it's hard to find information, especially as to what is open and what isn't and where to go to find hiking spots. It doesn't seem to be the most popular hobby in Thailand.

@@edgeofthemap4842 I’ll help if I can but everything is so uncertain right now and trails may not have been used much for over a year, it doesn’t take long for the jungle to take over.
